Although the Detroit Red Wings have been solid when it comes to allowed shots, with the 8th-best record in the NHL in terms of shots against, we can’t look past Connor McDavid’s shot line at 3.5 despite having to lay (-140).
McDavid is easily the best ice hockey player in the NHL and possibly even the world right now and has averaged 4.22 shots per game this season and has had over 3.5 game shots in 68% of his NHL games to date.
In terms of betting odds, 68% means we should be laying around (-200) for this bet, so to get only (-140) we are more than happy to lay this juice with McDavid tonight.
Since the start of 2023, McDavid has had 4-plus game shots in 13 of 16 games. Ironically, one of the games he went under that total was against the Detroit Red Wings less than ten days ago, where he ended the game on three shots.
That game was on the road and we expect the Oilers and McDavid to be on it tonight in this very winnable game on home ice following their 6-2 loss at the hands of the Montreal Canadians last time out.

We believe tonight could be the night to pull the trigger on the Oilers' 3rd highest-scoring player Zach Hyman to see 2+ points in tonight’s game at NHL betting odds of (+180).
Hyman has seen at least one point scored in 73% of his games played to date and has had over 1.5 points over 27% of the time this season.
That being said, he has seen the majority of his 2+ game points come in 2023 as he has seen 2+ points in only 18% of his games prior to this year.
Since the turn of the year, Hyman has had over 1.5 points in 43% of his games.

This could be a possible steal tonight when looking at Tage Thompson's over 3.5 shots at only -110 against the team that allows almost 40 shots against them per game –the Anaheim Ducks allow the most shots against in the entire NHL.
Thompson will be looking to bounce back here, as the Buffalo forward has had only 1/1/2 shots in his previous three games, despite averaging 3.90 shots per game this season.
These two teams met a few weeks back with the Sabres winning 6-3 on home ice and Thompson ended the game with three total shots. That said, Thompson has averaged four shots on the road this season compared to 3.7 on home ice.
Having had 4+ shots in 48% of his games played this season, we are prepared to bet his shot total over tonight against one of the worst teams in the league right now.

Rasmus Dahlin (Buffalo Sabres)

Despite Rasmus Dahlin seeing just 2+ game points in 32% of his NHL games played this season, he did manage to score two points against the Ducks the last time these teams met.
The Ducks are allowing 4.07 goals per game (the most in the NHL) and the Sabres are scoring the 3rd most per game (3.63). We are more than willing to bet Dahlin over 1.5 game points at (+170) betting odds.
Dahlin has now gone six games without scoring 2+ game points, this is just the second time all season long he has gone six games without 2+ points.
This is a great bounce-back spot for Dahlin.
