The New York Rangers Offence let us down last night, but thankfully, Anaheim and Detroit slapped up two winners for a 2-2 night and now sitting at an 8-4 overall record this season.

Tonight we have some big games featuring strong teams on the card, mostly notably the Edmonton Oilers play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vegas Golden Knights play the Toronto Maple Leafs in what’s set to be two intriguing NHL matches.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Edmonton Oilers

Monday, October 24, 2022 – 08:00 PM EDT at Rogers Place

Penguins Prop Bet: Sidney Crosby

Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins have been on fire to start this season having gone 4-1 with Crosby having contributed 10 points in 5 games, an average of 2 per game.

We are getting a big set of NHL odds on him to see 2 or more points on the road tonight at +140 against a poor enough defense such as the Oilers.

On top of the fact that Edmonton have allowed 3.4 goals per game (the 9th worst in the league), the Pittsburgh Penguins have scored the most goals per game with an average of 5.4.

Crosby has scored 3/3/0/1/3 points per game this season and we are liking his chances of racking up the points tonight in this possible high scoring affair.

Oilers Prop Bet: Evander Kane

Edmonton have had no problems in recent years scoring goals, it’s the defensive side of things and goaltending that has let them down more often than not.

Edmonton winger and one of their best players during last year’s playoffs run, Evander Kane has averaged 4.1 shots per game this season, but has only found the back of the net on one occasion.

During last year’s playoffs he managed to score 13 goals in 15 appearances including two hat-tricks.

We believe with a shot rate that high, he is sure to score sooner or later and on home ice tonight in a game that we expect to have a ton of goals we are happy to roll with Evander Kane to score anytime.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Monday, October 24, 2022 - 10:00 PM EDT at T-Mobile Arena

Maple Leafs Prop Bet: John Taveras

John Tavares has been solid for the Maple Leafs so far this season, right now he is the team’s top points scorer with a total of seven having scored three and assisted four.

Tavares has been averaging exactly four shots per game this season yet the top-rated sportsbooks are offering us a 2.5 shot line on Tavares tonight, laying -124 odds.

This seems too good to be true, especially knowing the Leafs are one of the highest shooting teams in the league. We would also advise taking Tavares over 3.5 shots for anything better than +230 with alternative lines if your sportsbook offers this option.

Although a road game to the Golden Knights will be difficult for Tavares and co., we are happy to take him as our NHL pick to see this shot line go over the total only laying -124, we wouldn’t advise betting this any lower than -175.

Golden Knights Prop Bet: Jonathan Marchessault

The Golden Knights centre (whose name we are only going to say once) Jonathan Marchessault has been the Knights top goalscorer thus far this season with five goals in six games played as well as averaging 3.3 shots per game and a shooting percentage sitting at 23.8%.

All these are incredible stats, albeit a small sample size.

We are more than happy to get some money down on the Golden Knights centre to find the back of the net again at +170 NHL player prop odds, which is surprising as he is only the 5th favorite to score tonight.

For us, right now he shouldn’t be that low down the pecking order and a more realistic set of odds to score anytime should be around +150 in our eyes, meaning we believe to have found some small value on this play.
