Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers

Wednesday, November 9, 2022 – 07:00 PM EST at FLA Live Arena

Florida Panthers Prop Bet: Gustav Forsling

  • Over 2.5 Shots

Without Matthew Tkachuk on the ice (suspended for two games for high-sticking Jonathan Quick), we expect the Panthers to share their shooting around and the best value seems to be defender Gustav Forsling to see 3+ shots tonight at NHL betting odds of -124.

Forsling has seen over 2.5 shots in 10 of his 13 NHL games this season and has been on a hot streak taking 3/3/7/4/3/4 shots in his last six games.

Forsling has averaged just over 3.3 shots per game this season, and given the fact Sam Bennet (who was our original pick for shots over in this spot) has seen just one more shot than Forsling this season but has his shot line set at 3.5, we believe Forsling to a much better bet here.

Yes, the Carolina Hurricanes have allowed the least amount of shots on net this entire NHL season, but they face the team with the most shots on net in the Panthers, so this will make for a very intriguing matchup.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Washington Capitals

Wednesday, November 9, 2022 – 07:30 PM EST at Capital One Arena

Pittsburgh Penguins Prop Bet: Richard Rakell

  • Over 2.5 Shots

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been on a horrible run, losing their previous 7 games in a row, but this could be their biggest chance to break that streak as they face a Washington Capitals team who has been struggling themselves, with just one win from their previous five games, as well as the fact that they are completely depleted with injuries right now.

The Capitals have allowed a lot of shots on net this season (the 7th worst in the league) and we are loving a bounce-back spot here for Pittsburgh Penguins center Richard Rakell to see over 2.5 shots in tonight’s game.

Rakell has averaged 3.6 shots on net this season and has seen 3+ shots in 8 of his first 10 games, but he has since gone back-to-back games with less than three shots on net.

He is the Penguins' highest shot-taker, and we expect him to be trigger-happy here with the Penguins badly needing a win and coming up against a very winnable opponent, even if it is on the road.

NHL Pick: Richard Rakell Over 2.5 Shots (-120) at BetOnline

Minnesota Wild vs. Anaheim Ducks

Wednesday, November 9, 2022 – 10:00 PM EST at Honda Center

Minnesota Wild Prop Bet: Mats Zuccarello

  • Over 1.5 Points

Whenever we see the Anaheim Ducks or Minnesota Wild on the daily NHL betting slate, our eyes are always attracted, and given the fact these two teams are facing one another tonight, we are expecting a humdinger of a game.

Despite the Minnesota Wild being very cold right now with back-to-back scoreless games (4-0 loss to the Seattle Kraken and 1-0 loss to the L.A Kings) they will be confident they can get rolling again against this Anaheim Ducks team who have allowed the most goals per game (4.62) and shots against per game (40.46).

The Wild have scored 7/4/2/4/3 goals against the Ducks in their previous five games. We could target either of the Wilds' top points scorers in Kirill Kaprizov (13 points) or Mats Zuccarello (12 points).

For this NHL pick, we have gone for the latter as he has much higher odds to have 2+ points on the board tonight, at odds of +170 to see over 1.5 points. Kaprizov has been a lot more consistent, but we are liking the fact Zuccarello has now gone four games without a single point scored and seven games without 2+ points scored.

Compare that to his first five games where he had 1/3/1/3/2 points each game. What better team to bounce back from a cold streak for both the Wild and Zuccarello than the Anaheim Ducks, who allow so many goals?

NHL Pick: Mats Zuccarello Over 1.5 Points (+170) at BetOnline
