Seattle Kraken vs. Detroit Red Wings
Thursday, March 2, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Little Caesars Arena
Seattle has been sputtering down the stretch having dropped three straight and six of their last nine contests before picking up a 5-3 win over the Blues on Tuesday night. Morgan Geekie had a pair of goals while Jared McCann, Jamie Oleksiak, and Brandon Tanev also chipped in with a goal apiece.
Speaking of struggling, the Red Wings are now in the midst of a three-game losing streak and lost both of their back-to-back contests against the lowly Senators by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
It’s tough to get blown out in two consecutive days by a team like Ottawa but that illustrates just how weak the Wings are this season.
These teams have met just once this season, a 4-2 win by the Kraken a few weeks ago, and this looks like it will be a repeat of that game. Seattle isn’t a great team by any stretch but they do have a decent offense and that is what separates these squads.
Let’s jump on an early line over at BetOnline and get the Kraken at a coin flip for our first NHL pick.

Minnesota Wild vs. Vancouver Canucks
Thursday, March 2, 2023 - 10:00 PM EST at Rogers Arena
The Canucks have alternated wins and losses over their last five games and if the pattern holds true on Thursday night then expect the Wild to skate away with the victory.
Vancouver shocked the Stars in Dallas in their last outing, a 5-4 overtime win, and returned a healthy (+232) to those who believed in the big road pup.
The Wild have won six of their last seven contests but it hasn’t been easy. Four of those games, including the 2-1 loss to Toronto, went into overtime or a shootout while the other three were decided by a combined four-goal margin. That’s what happens when you have a bottom-third offense but a top-third defense.
Therefore, Minnesota is not the kind of team you bet on the puck line but they are vying for the top spot in the Central Division, trailing the Stars by only a point, so you can’t argue with the results.
Tonight, they are playing one of the worst defensive teams in the league and will have a huge advantage on the power play where they are ranked 7th, converting 23.5 percent of their chances, versus the worst penalty-killing team in the NHL, extinguishing just 66.7 percent of their man-down situations.
It's a steep line but it’s steep for a reason and we’re still getting one of the best teams in the league versus one of the worst for well under (-200) for your NHL pick.

St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks
Thursday, March 2, 2023 - 10:30 PM EST at SAP Center
If you made a case for the Sharks being the worst team in the league, few would argue. And if there’s one thing I love to do, it’s fading bad teams without paying a huge price and that’s exactly what we have here with the St. Louis Blues skating into San Jose.
The Blues have lost six straight which is why the oddsmakers have this one as a virtual coin flip. That’s absolutely fine with us because they won’t lose forever and the Sharks are an ideal club to get well against.
The Sharks have dropped six of their last seven games and have been outscored, 22-14, over that stretch including a 4-0 win over the Kraken, and could very well be without the services of their No. 6 scorer, Kevin Labanc, who missed the last game, a 3-1 loss to the Canadiens on Tuesday, as he is waiting for the birth of his baby.
It is fair to say that St. Louis has been giving the Sharks the blues over the last few years, having won six straight including a 5-3 win this season back in November.
We believe that streak will continue with a St. Louis victory tonight.
