The Vegas Golden Knights come into this road game currently sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference and third overall in their Pacific division. With that said they will be hoping to kick-start their season tonight after the all-star break having lost their previous four road games in a row, only winning 4 of their last 10 on the road.
The Golden Knights are missing some key players because of injuries ahead of this game, most notably Mark Stone who is out indefinitely following back surgery. Stone had been the team's second-highest point scorer per game, averaging 0.88 points per game.
The Nashville Predators are currently on a three-game winning streak and have won 6 of their previous 7 which now sees them occupying fifth in their division and tenth in the conference. They can sneak into the playoffs this season as they are just 9 points behind second in the Western Conference having only played 48 games compared to most teams 49-52 range. That said offensively they will need to pick things up going forward into this second half of the season.

Both these teams rank in the top ten in terms of goals allowed per game, combining for 5.7 goals per game. It's last against second last in this Western Conference clash which sees the Chicago Blackhawks playing host to the Anaheim Ducks. The previous time these two teams faced off Chicago came away as 3-2 winners.
It’s been a season to forget for both these NHL franchises as the Blackhawks have an overall record of 15-29-4, scoring just 2.46 goals per game which is the third lowest in the NHL as well as allowing a 3.63 per game. Although they are only the fifth worst, the Blackhawks have played three and two games less than those above them, meaning they could be ranked as one of the bottom two by the time they catch up on games.
The poor Anaheim Ducks have allowed the most goals per game at 4.02 (the only team to allow 4+ on average) and have scored the league’s lowest with just 2.43 per game. Anaheim comes into this matchup in decent form having won 4 of their previous 6 including a win over the Colorado Avalanche. Chicago has won 6 of their last 10 but suffered a heavy 7-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers last time out on the ice.
The Pick
This is a complete 50/50 game, although the Blackhawks are at home and stats-wise “arguably” the better of the two teams, we wouldn’t feel comfortable betting them to win at -125.
For our NHL picks, we think the Ducks are worth taking a punt on at +120. This is both teams' first game post the all-star break and honestly, this could go either way, so give us the better odds available with the Ducks to win this matchup.
