Meanwhile, the Islanders have dropped four of their last six with losses to the lowly Canucks, Canadiens, and Senators before falling to the high-flying Boston Bruins.
Essentially, we have two teams that are struggling, and while I appreciate that the Jets’ offense is a notch above the Islanders', while Winnipeg’s defense is among the best in the league, I can’t help but notice that New York has defeated Winnipeg in their last five consecutive meetings.
We should also note that the Jets are a vastly superior team at home (20-8) than on the road (15-13-1). This is not a bet-the-rent kind of play but if we’re flipping a coin, I say the Islanders are coming up more often than Winnipeg.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Dallas Stars

The Blackhawks have now won three in a row proving that miracles never cease. They started this rare winning streak last Friday when they defeated the Senators, 4-3, in overtime followed two nights later with a shocking 5-3 victory over the Maple Leafs as +268 home dogs. And last night the Hawks hit the trifecta when they skated past the Golden Knights, 3-2, in a shootout.
This Chicago team is not built to win as evidenced by their 7-16-2 road record and they will be put to the test tonight when they face one of the most talented teams in the league, but one that is currently struggling to find victories. The Stars have dropped four straight with their most recent, a 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets, perhaps their most embarrassing of the season.
And while the Blackhawks will be worn down after skating into overtime followed by a shootout session last night, the Stars will be well-rested, having had since Saturday to dwell on their humiliating loss to Columbus. Dallas has won their last five meetings against Chicago and they will make it No. 6 on Wednesday night by two goals or more.

In short, the Flames do one thing well, they get the puck on the net and they do it better than anyone in the league, except the Florida Panthers, averaging 35.4 shots per game. Yet, the Coyotes will have had one extra night to rest up for this meeting, having last scored a 3-2 overtime win against Columbus on Saturday, and have now won three of their last four contests.
