The Central Division is the home of the current Stanley Cup champions the Colorado Avalanche.
Having ran away with the division last season, top-rated sportsbooks have set their regular season total points as high as 111.5.
The Central Division is one of the toughest, can Colorado be stopped? Or will they have a tougher time this year?
- 65.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 57 (8th)
Arizona might just be one of the worst teams in the NHL right now. Their 57 regular season points picked up last season was the 2nd worst in the NHL and being in such a tough division we can’t see them getting anywhere near 67 regular season points.
This team is going to be one of the worst again in 22/23, they are eyeing up Connor Bedard in next year’s draft, easy under.
- 66.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 68 (7th)
Just like Arizona it seems the Blackhawks will be another punching bag in the Central Division this season, having just barely hit 68 points last season, their line has been set at 66.5 for 2022/23.
The under is the best play here as they could potentially finish last in this division.
Patrick Kane and Johnathan Toews are still going strong, its most likely their final year with the Blackhawks it would seem, that’s if they don’t leave before the seasons end.
- 111.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 119 (1st)
Colorado arguably still have the best roster coming into this season and they should reclaim their top position in the Central Division. It’s very likely they get to a Stanley Cup final again in 2022/23.
Can the Avalanche hit over 111.5 points? They managed 119 last season and took the foot off the pedal going 4-5-1 in their final 10 games. Following the NHL odds, they can hit 112 or more points easy.
NHL Pick: Over 111.5 (-110) at BetOnline
- 94.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 98 (4th)
Dallas are a difficult one, they are a solid team but lack goals, and it often leads them to trying to grind out wins.
They were just one loss away from finishing last season in 5th. The Stars have some strong players, but they can be very hot and cold.
This current line is too difficult to make a judgment as an NHL pick on the over or under for the Dallas Stars, pass and move on.
NHL Pick: Pass
- 99.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 113 (2nd)
The Wild had a very strong finish to 2022 going 8-1-1 in the final 10 games, ending with a strong total of 113 points.
The fact that this teams points total line has been set as low as 99.5 seems too good to be true.
For us, the Wild are at least three wins stronger than 99 points this season and we believe this to be one of the best bets in the Central Division.
Although they most likely lose out on their Stanley Cup dream in the second round during the playoffs.
NHL Pick: Over 99.5 Points (-110) at BetOnline
- 96.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 97 (5th)
Nashville have improved with some solid off season additions in McDonagh and Niederreiter, although they are struggling to find a backup goaltender.
It’s going to be another solid season for the Predators, but hard to determine if they will finish 3rd to 5th in the division.
The Predators line at 96.5 seems too sharp for us right now, so it’s going to have to be a pass.
NHL Pick: Pass
Saint Louis Blues
- 97.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 109 (3rd)
The Blues seem like a team who could be about to take a down turn in fortunes but hold up as its most likely going to be next season when they could likely lose a few key pieces.
It’s no secret that star forward Vladimir Tarasenko was looking for a trade. We think the Blues have another solid year and make the playoffs but fall short in the post season.
They could possibly sneak over or under this 97.5 line so it’s going to have to be a pass, although we favor the over much higher than the under.
NHL Pick: Pass
- 88.5 Points
- Last Season Pts: 89 (6th)
The Jets line has been set at exactly the same number of points they accumulated in 2021/22.
The Jets seem to be heading in a different direction this season having hired a new coach, and it could take them a whole season of teething problems to figure this out.
We are liking the Jets to stay under their Points total.
NHL Pick: Under 89.5 Points (-114) at Everygame
