It is the day before Thanksgiving and time for us to be grateful for something tremendous… a full slate of some good-ass hockey. We got two games that we think you totally should put some money on and I am here to contractually obligated to talk to you about. Let’s see the NHL odds.

New York Rangers vs. New York Islanders

Wednesday, November 24, 2021 – 07:30 PM EST at UBS Arena

The first one delights me to no end because it’s the Rangers vs. the Islanders, a feud that is a tale as old as time and weirdly is the first time these two teams are facing off in the NHL season.

A year ago if you told me the Rangers would be the team who won five of their last six, while the Islanders were on a six-game losing streak and only averaging one goal per game in that span, I’d have slapped you in the mouth and called you a damn liar.

Yet, here we are as the Rangers enter UBS Arena for the first time tonight coming off a 5-4 win over the Buffalo Sabres who are two games better than the Islanders in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Islanders are only playing their third home game of 2021 due to the delayed opening of their new home UBS Arena, and one can only imagine the stress and uncomfortably of a team that had their first 16 games of the season on the road to only then start you’re homestand against the #1 seed in the west (Calgary) and the #4 seed in the east (Toronto).

For the Islanders, you can see them getting into a rhythm for a big game like this against their biggest rival, but with an average of 3.07 goals given up per game against a Rangers team that in their last six have averaged 3.83 goals per game, you can take the Rangers by the money line at -119 per BetOnline.

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Nashville Predators

Wednesday, November 24, 2021 - 08:00 PM EST at Bridgestone Arena

Next up is a battle between two teams looking to puddle jump from the seventh and eighth seed respectively in the Western Conference, the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Nashville Predators.

For the Preds, they’re coming off a 3-2 win against the Ducks which cut off a two-game losing streak to Montreal and Toronto. Now, losing to Toronto is forgivable, but the Habs have quickly become the Hab not following an epic run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Golden Knights off a trade for Jack Eichel have been consistently following a 1-4 start to the season and have gone 11-4 never losing more than one game in a row. While Eichel won’t see the ice on Wednesday night, or maybe any night in the 2021-22 regular season, the Golden Knights rely on Jonathan Marchessault, who has scored nine goals so far this season for Vegas, tied for 11th in the league.

But, with Matt Duchene fifth in goals scored this season in the league and the Knights have YET to pitch a shutout this season, you wanna take the Golden Knights on the money line +100 and have yourself a fun Thanksgiving eve.

NHL Pick: Golden Knights +100 with BetOnline
