Thursday night means a boatload of hockey, so we here at Bookmakers Review are gonna give you our best bets on who to wager on in the National Hockey League tonight!

Let’s break down some NHL odds, shall we?

Minnesota Wild vs. Boston Bruins

Thursday, January 06, 2022 – 07:00 PM EST at TD Garden

Betting Preview

First up, we’re shipping up to Boston like every Irish guy in the middle of the 2000’s as the Bruins take on the Minnesota Wild.

For the Wild, they’re coming off their fifth straight loss as they dropped the Winter Classic to the St. Louis Blues on New Years Day, 6-4. Outside of the five straight losses, the Wild have had five of their last eight games postponed due to various Coronavirus outbreaks inside the NHL this season.

Meanwhile, Boston has won three straight over New Jersey, Detroit and Buffalo following six postponed games and losses to the lowly Islanders and the Western Conference-leading Vegas Golden Knights.

With the Bruins seventh in goals against, at 2.59, and Minnesota in 19th with 3.10 goals scored against them per game, you’d give Boston the edge, but Minnesota has kept up with their competitors averaging 3.65 goals per game. That's nearly a whole goal higher than Boston’s 2.90 average.

Best Bet

Your best bet here is to take the over 6 goals scored set at -115 from Heritage Sports (visit our Heritage Sports Review) and hope that both teams' goalies get lost on their way to the building.

Detroit Red Wings vs. Anaheim Ducks

Thursday, January 06, 2022 - 10:00 PM EST at Honda Center

Next up we head to Anaheim as the Detroit Red Wings visit the Ducks in a battle of teams that dominated the hockey landscape at varying points of my time on earth for a variety of reasons (Mighty Duck 2 forever).

With Detroit’s last two games yielding 6 or more goals and Anaheim giving up six goals to what might be the worst team in the NHL, the Phoenix Coyotes, I’m looking at this game and seeing a line that is making me turn into a wolf from a 1940’s cartoon as the over 5.5 goals line is +102 from Heritage Sports, and I would VERY MUCH take that bet.

While Detroit is top ten in goals against in the league, both they and Anaheim have given up boatloads of goals this season against a wonky set of opponents, so taking a flyer on this is not a bad way to spend a Thursday night.

A bad way to spend a Thursday night is being held upside down while attempting to be Spiderman in real life… don’t ask me how I know that.

Calgary Flames vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Thursday, January 06, 2022 - 07:00 PM EST at Amalie Arena

And finally, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Calgary Flames face off in a rematch of the epic 2004 Stanley Cup final that none of you remember because it was almost 20 years ago when the NHL’s logo was orange and life was simpler.

While Tampa is still winning cups and giving me an ulcer, Calgary… not so much with the winning, losing five of their last seven and with Tampa looking to avenge their most recent losing streak where they got dusted up 9-3 by the Panthers. I expect Tampa to be on the ball at home to pull out a big win, so take the over six from Heritage Sports, set at -103, for your third NHL pick tonight.

Until next week, follow me on Twitter @MRyanConsulting and give me the validation my parents never did.
