Hockey is back! We think so… or we hope? For now, the NHL is back and we’ve got some awesome games to run through for our last conversation of 2021!
So let’s break down some NHL odds and measure our heads for that awesome gold pinwheel hat.
New York Rangers vs. Florida Panthers
Wednesday, December 29, 2021 – 07:00 PM EST at FLA Live Arena
First up is a fight between two teams with very little real estate between them in the standings as the New York Rangers are battling the Florida Panthers… the ice cats.
The last time we saw the Rangers, they dropped a 3-2 game at the Garden, that was also a Christmas gift for my roommate and her boyfriend. On the other hand, I am grateful that I kept my white ass at home for that one cause I would've had some sort of fit.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have not played a game of hockey since December 16th when they got dropped by the LA Kings 4-1.
With both teams coming off a 12-day layoff and you add in the complications of Omicron, the Rangers traveling to Sunrise and losing three of their last four (drinks at 9:00 AM), it makes sense that the Rangers are a +165 underdog, yet Florida lost their last three and four of their last five… yikes!
So I’m advising you, lovely humans, to take the Rangers, not out of bias, but out of me looking out at the last four games and seeing how they faltered to comparable or lesser teams than the Rangers.
Nashville Predators vs. Washington Capitals
Wednesday, December 29, 2021 - 07:00 PM EST at Capital One Arena
Next up is a cross-conference clash as Washington looks to maintain their grip on the conference as they battle a hard-charging Nashville Predators.
With five of their last seven games postponed it has not derailed the Predators who’ve won the last eight games they actually played and last lost on December 2nd to the Bruins 2-0.
Meanwhile, the Caps have lost four of their last nine but do have a home-ice advantage before traveling to Detroit for a road swing. The bad thing for the Caps is that five of the Predators wins on this run we’re away games and victories against potential playoff teams (except New Jersey and the Islanders).
While taking Nashville at +135 can be a good bet, you may wanna look at the Over 6 goals at +100 as your fun risky bet of the night (patent pending).
Edmonton Oilers vs. St. Louis Blues
Wednesday, December 29, 2021 - 08:30 PM EST at Enterprise Center
Now two more teams to cover our across-the-board gambling jag, as the St Louis Blues host the Edmonton Oilers!
Edmonton, prior to "postponeamania" and the holiday break, won two straight… but before that lost six in a row.
While taking a bet and risking it on Edmonton could be fun and a nice way to end 2021, I’m suggesting the Blues here, low risk, moderate reward, and you may win the favor of Jenna Fischer, who is a die-hard Blues fan… okay, you won’t but still, grab 'em for your last NHL pick tonight.
On that note, we are done for the year and I wanted to thank anyone who reads this and takes my advice on hockey, football, wrestling and MMA. Hopefully, you’ve made some decent money and are so much closer to that solid gold boat or pinwheel hat.
