Tampa Bay travels along the east coast to the Wells Fargo Center to face the Philadelphia Flyers for the first time in 15 months. The Flyers have lost 4 of their previous 5 meetings at the Wells Fargo Center to the Tampa Bay Lighting and are as big as +117 to win tonight’s game.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Thursday, November 18, 2021 – 07:00 PM EST at Wells Fargo Center

Tampa Bay Offense Impressive Without Kucherov

Tampa Bay has been averaging 3.06 goals per game without Kucherov and Killorn. Stamkos and Point have all combined for a whopping 21 goals and 21 assists, impressive indeed given the fact they have only played 14 games this season. It goes without saying that an injury to one of these three would really set them back.

Tampa beat the Islanders convincingly last time out with a 4-1 win, a play we were on was the Lighting to win in regulation at plus money.

Flyers Looking Better

The Flyers are 4-3 thus far at home this season, which isn’t the worst way to start the season but given the fact, almost every team bar the Rangers have a better home record in their division, Philadelphia will have to up their home wins just a little. They have an impressive away record but they can’t rely on that throughout the season.

The Flyers would be making a big statement if they could beat the Stanley Cup champions on home ice for the first time since 2017. The Flyers defense has been solid to start the season, allowing only 2.43 goals per game, it’s the other end of the ice they have been underperforming, scoring just 2.7 goals per game (the 27th lowest in the NHL)

Team Trends

*Trends should never be your main source of information when it comes to making your betting picks, they are merely guidelines and mostly irrelevant information but nonetheless can be interesting to read.

Philadelphia Flyers

What Are The Betting Odds and Current Lines?

Moneyline: Tampa Bay are currently as low as -130 with the best online sportsbooks on the moneyline for tonight’s game. The home team have been set at +117 at the time of writing.

Total: The total for tonight’s game has been set at 5.5 with the juice towards the over at -120 with Intertops, if you believe we see less than six goals here the under can be bet as +106.

Puck Line: Tampa Bay are set at +180 to cover the -1.5 puck line, whilst the home team are as low as -210 to cover the +1.5 line. Anything below -150 for a +1.5 line is a no play in our eyes, not unless looking to place in a parlay, and even then, the value is really low. We only suggest taking the +1.5 line for a parlay if you actually believe the team has a chance of winning, if you think they might lose but maybe by less than 2, then don’t touch the +1.5 for -210.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Philadelphia Flyers Betting Prediction

Honestly, we were quite surprised to see the Lighting as low as -130 to win this game, we thought they would be -120 max, don’t get us wrong here they are most definitely the better of the two teams but right now the Flyers are no pushovers, although the fact that Philadelphia has the second-worst home record in the Metropolitan division and the Lighting have the best away record in the Atlantic division might have something to do with these odds. Also, the fact that Tampa Bay has dominated the Flyers in recent games both home and away.

The trends suggest a low-scoring affair here, and given the fact both teams are defensively solid we believe we could be looking at an under-game total here. If the Flyers' offense shows up tonight this could cause a problem, but when they haven’t shown up all season, we don’t expect them to do so against one of the best teams and defenses in the league.

We side with the Lighting to win this game but can’t lay that juice, and the Flyers are not priced as big as we would like.
