Vegas Golden Knights vs. Los Angeles Kings

Tuesday, December 28, 2021 – 10:30 PM EST at Crypto.com Arena

Golden Knights Running Hot

Vegas has been through a tough season to date, they had a lot of important players injured during the first few months of the season and now they have to deal with the whole COVID-19 situation again as players and their coach are unavailable for this game due to having to isolate. The Golden Knights have one of the best depth charts in the league.

Whilst the start of the season was rough, they have gained some momentum and find themselves sitting in second place in the Western Conference. They are, however, still feeling the pinch in the net and the departure of Marc-André Fleury could prove to be their downfall this season as he was the Vezina Trophy winner last season and Robin Lehner hasn’t stepped up to the mark just yet.

Kings Can Still Make Playoff Push

The Kings are in a position to make the playoffs this season, they have looked like a much better team than last season and their veteran players are really stepping up to the mark this one. Anze Kopitar has a team-high 37 points. Currently, the Kings are not in a playoff spot but they are just one win away from jumping into a playoff spot and also have some games in hand.

Interestingly, the Kings have the least amount of xG per game but also rank in the top 10 for most high danger chances, this is the main thing they need to look at improving, have a more efficient offense. Jonathan Quick has also had a major career resurgence and is looking for solid in net this season. He could just take them into a playoff run if things fall into place for the 2015 Stanley Cup winners.

Betting Prediction

This is an interesting matchup, we have some important players missing for both teams in terms of COVID-19 protocol and the Kings do have the advantage of having a better goaltender in net tonight, but will it be enough to steam all the attacks from the Golden Knights even without Stone and Pacioretty?

The Knights are without their coach here but we think they should prove slightly too strong for the Kings tonight, more strength in depth and a nice break to go with it, for your NHL picks, take the Golden Knights in the moneyline at -138. Don’t bet them any lower than these odds.
