The Boston Bruins will be looking to improve on their record this season with a win on home ice over the Anaheim Ducks, the visitors are missing players, but that didn’t matter last time out when they stomped the Lighting 5-1.

Can the Ducks record their first set of back-to-back wins in over a month and a half? Or will the Bruins be able to make it 11 wins from their past 13?  Without further ado, let’s take a look into how you should be wagering at the top-rated sportsbooks.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Boston Bruins

Monday, January 24, 2022 – 7:00 PM EST at TD Garden

Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks four-game losing streak finally came to an end last time out where they cashed as massive +220 underdogs. They put on an amazing offensive display when putting five goals past the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions, Tampa Bay Lightning. John Gibson was on point in the net and managed to save 32 of his 33 shots faced and Derek Grant scored twice to bring his goal tally on the season to six.

The Ducks players really stepped up to the mark considering many of their starters and main attacking threat troy terry were absent from the line-up, and many could still be for tonight’s game.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins are back to themselves these days having scored three or more goals in 8 of their previous 10 games and are at the very least sitting comfortably in the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.

The Bruins rank 2nd in shots per game this season but have only scored the 12th most amount of goals per game, offensively they are much improved from the start of the season, but they still have a little more to go if they want to be serious contenders for the Stanley Cup.

Defensively they have been strong whilst only allowing the 8th most amount of goals, they have only allowed the 4th most amount of shots per game. Brad Marchand has been a true leader of this team in the past few years, but thus far this season he has stepped up dramatically and he is their top points scorer with 44 points.

Team Trends

*Trends should never be your main source of information when it comes to making your betting picks, they are merely guidelines and mostly irrelevant information but nonetheless can be interesting to read.

Boston Bruins

  • Boston are 7-1 in their last 8 games.
  • The total has gone under in 8 of Boston's last 10 games against an opponent in the Western Conference.
  • The total has gone over in 8 of Boston's last 12 games.

Anaheim Ducks

  • Anaheim are 1-5 in their last 6 games on the road.
  • The total has gone over in 6 of Anaheim's last 8 games against an opponent in the Atlantic Division.
  • Anaheim are 9-3 in their last 12 games against Boston.

Betting Odds and Current Lines

Moneyline: Anaheim are as high as +220 to win this road game on the moneyline, they probably would have been higher only for they beat the Lighting last time out. Boston are juiced all the way into -220 on the moneyline, unfortunately, this holds zero value.

Total: The total for the game has been set at 6.0 with the overcoming in at plus money at the NHL odds board, if looking to take under 6.0 here its currently -125.

Puck Line: The PK line is very strange indeed as it’s something we had to look at twice as we thought we were seeing things. Currently, the Ducks +1.5 is -110 and the Bruins -1.5 is also -110.

Betting Predictions

Even if the Ducks had a full-strength team here, we would have to imagine they would still be pretty big underdogs, although probably more like +150 than their current +220. We have to like the fact they are weakened and are coming off an unexpected win against the Lighting. They have also had to travel from the west coast to the east coast for this matchup.

The Ducks have scored just two or less in 60% of their previous ten games, and the Bruins are scoring 3+ on a regular basis, we have to think this is going to be a let-down spot for Anaheim.

Although we are laying juice to cover a spread (which is never favorable) we love this situation and we are happy to take the Bruins to cover the Pk line at -110 for our NHL picks, but no less.
