Best Stanley Cup Playoffs Prop Bets for May 4

Matchday 1 of the playoffs didn’t go to plan for the Minnesota Wild or the Tampa Bay Lightning as both teams suffered shutout defeats.

Elsewhere the Bruins failed to capitalize on facing the Hurricanes’ number 2 goaltender and lost 5-1, whilst the Oilers lost 4-3 as -200 favorites.

There are a lot of strong teams looking to bounce back with wins tonight. Let’s check out what NHL player props we are liking for tonight’s card.

Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Wednesday, May 04, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at PNC Arena

Antti Raanta (Carolina Hurricanes )

If it ain't broke don’t fix it, and that is the case in this matchup, we are going with the exact same player prop best bet as the first game of the series except for some strange reason we are getting a better line as Raanta have been set at 26.5 total saves to go over or under, compared to 28.5 during the first game.

We ran the number last time out and it showed us that the Bruins forced the Hurricanes goaltenders into 30+ saves in their 3 previous games and last time out Raanta saved 35 shots.

At top-rated sportsbooks, a line at 26.5 seems way too low for a bet that has seen 30+ saves for 4 games in a row now, and the Bruins will shoot a lot again tonight after going down 5-1 in the first game.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Wednesday, May 04, 2022 - 07:30 PM EDT at Scotiabank Arena

Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay Lightning)

The Lighting and Leaf's game 1 was a battle, theirs was lots of dirty hits on the ice and plenty of penalties and fights.

The Leafs played arguably one of their best NHL playoff games to date, at least in the past 10 or so years as they shut out the standing champions and won 5-0.

The Lightning are back-to-back Stanley Cup champions and they won’t go down so easily, we are backing their captain and top goalscorer Steven Stamkos to find the back of the net tonight, he scored 42 goals in the regular season.

The Lighting tried to get him into scoring position a lot in game one but he was always covered and only managed two shots.

The Lighting is bound to score a few tonight and this could be a high-scoring affair.

St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild

Wednesday, May 04, 2022 – 09:30 PM EDT at Xcel Energy Center

Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota Wild)

The Wild seem to have some sort of mental barrier when it comes to the St Louis Blues, despite finishing ahead of them in the regular season they are now 1-4 in their previous 5 games against the Blues.

Losing on home ice 4-0 was far from what the Minnesota fans expected in the first game of the series, although it did take the Blues goaltender to pull off 37 saves as well as a David Perron hat trick to seal the shutout win.

Check Out: BMR’s Sports Betting Forum

The Wild need to get their offense going tonight and their main man this season has been Kaprizov, he took 5 shots in game one and didn’t find the back of the net, we are expecting him to take a similar amount of shots tonight and will be surprised if one of his shots don’t get past the goal line.

Kaprizov has scored 3 goals in his previous 3 games against the Blues, making last time out the first time he didn’t score against them this season.
