It’s getting closer to the third round of the playoffs and one of two teams on tonight’s card can secure a position in that round with a win. Let’s check out what our favorite NHL player props picks are.

Florida Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lighting

Monday, May 23, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Amalie Arena

NHL Prop on Carter Verhaeghe (Panthers)

We are expecting goals tonight from the Panthers and Carter Verhaeghe to pick up just one point tonight looks good in this scenario.

Verhaeghe almost single handily brought the Panthers into this round with 6 goals and 6 assists in the previous round against the Washington Capitals, which means he was involved in 12 of their 20 goals.

Unbelievably, Tampa Bay Lightning have kept the regular season's top goalscorers to just 3 goals in the first three playoff games of the series.

The Panthers averaged 4.1 goals in the regular season and thus far in the playoffs have been shut down to a total average of 2.6.

It's 3-0 to the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions Tampa Bay Lighting in this series, it’s a must-win game for Florida if they wish to keep the series alive.

Florida have to show up tonight, they need to pound the net and they need goals, the Panthers are more of an outscore you and win sort of team as opposed to shutting the shop and winning low scoring affairs.

NHL Prop on Ondrej Palat (Lightning)

The Lighting have dominated the Panthers this series scoring 11 goals and on home ice, Ondrej Palat has scored at least 1 point in 9 straight games and we are like his chances of doing so again tonight. For comparison, he has scored just 3 points in his previous 7 road games.

Palat has scored 3 points in his four-game against the Panthers this season, the only time not doing so was in game one of the series.

We expect this to be a high-scoring affair, the Lighting should be able to get a few goals here and Palat has been the third-highest points scorer of the top 45 players who have played less than 17 minutes per game in this season's playoffs.

Colorado Avalanche vs. St Louis Blues

Monday, May 23, 2022 – 09:30 PM EDT at Enterprise Center

NHL Prop on Devon Toews (Avalanche)

Devon Toews has been one of the Avalanches' best players in the playoffs thus far and has seen 23 shots on goal in 7 post-season games and has seen his shot total go over 2.5 in 6 of his previous 7 games.

We like his shot total over 2.5 tonight for NHL odds of -115 but we feel the true value lies with his playmaking.

Toews has racked up 3 goals and 2 assists this postseason and in the regular season racked up 13 goals and 44 assists. The defenseman is clearly more than a playmaker and we expect the Avalanche to roll over the Blues again tonight.

Toews to pick up an assist at +130 is our best value play here but we do feel the safest angle would be his over 2.5 shots. Alternatively, Toews to score over 0.5 points is coming in best priced at -115 with BetOnline.

NHL Prop on Ryan O’ Reilly (Blues)

Time and time again the sportsbooks and betting sites have not adjusted O’Reilly’s shooting line and we are yet again getting him at -115 to see 3 or more shots on goal tonight.

The Blues forward is tied for the most goals on the team in the playoffs along with David Perron and has scored the most points with a total of 12.

O’Reilly has taken an average of 3.5 shots per game in this year’s postseason, let's ride with the center to go over his shots total again tonight. He has done so in the first three games of this series having had  5/4/3 shots.

O’Reilly has also seen 3 or more shots in all but 2 of his postseasons games, and even in the games he went under the total he still managed 2 shots, just one shy of cash.
