The New York Rangers changed up their style of play in order to give themselves the best chance possible against the Carolina Hurricanes, which in turn has seen them force the Hurricanes to a Game 7.

Thus far this series has only seen home teams win which in turn has led to the Hurricanes being juiced as heavy favorites on home ice tonight at NHL odds of -140, to advance to the Conference Final.

We are mainly targeting player shot props for today’s game due to the fact we don’t see many goals being scored. Check out what NHL props we have in store for this Game 7 spectacle.

New York Rangers vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Monday, May 30, 2022 – 08:00 PM EDT at PNC Arena

Rangers vs. Hurricanes Prop Bet: 1st Period Total

The first three games of the series saw the first period go Under 1.5 goals whilst the next three games all witnessed the Over 1.5 first period cash.

With that being said we are expecting a very tight game tonight and the total game Under 5.5 at -130 looks like the best full game bet.

For a slightly better price at -125, we can take the first period Under 1.5 goals. As we said, we expect a tight game and wouldn’t be surprised if the first period ended 0-0.

Rangers Prop Bet: Adam Fox

The Rangers defender Adam Fox has seen an average of 2.6 shots per game in the playoffs this season and overall has averaged 2.1 shots per game against the Carolina Hurricanes including the playoffs and regular-season games.

This play for us is all about the value, we don’t believe he should be +150 to see 3 or more shots. We would bet Fox’s shot total Over 2.5 down to as low as +110.

Fox has taken the 5th most amount of shots in the postseason for the Rangers with a total of 32 shots. He is just three shots shy of having the 3rd most and only 5 behind leaders Mika Zibanejad and Ryan Strome who both have 39.

Fox has the tied most amount of points in the playoffs for the Rangers with a total of 13 alongside Zibanejad.

Hurricanes Prop Bet: Teuvo Teravainen

Finnish winger Teuvo Teravainen has taken the 3rd most shots on the Hurricanes roster in the postseason, just 4 shots behind team shooting leader Andrei Svechnikov. The Hurricanes winger has been their top points scorer in this season’s playoffs with a total of 11 points, 4 goals, and 7 assists.

In the regular season, Teravainen averaged 3.1 shots per game against the Rangers, and although has seen just an average of 2.1 in this series, we are liking his line and odds on him seeing 3 or more shots at -120 tonight on home ice in a must-win game.

We also like the fact he only had 1 shot in the Game 6 defeat in New York. Teravainen isn’t going back-to-back games with less than 3 shots.

Rangers Prop Bet: Ryan Strome

Based on stats, we are getting some incredible value here on the Rangers centre man to see Over 1.5 shots on net tonight at -130. Ryan Strome has taken the tied most shots per game on average in the postseason.

Although it must be said he did have a field day in the first game of the playoffs as he produced 8 shots on the night and overall took the majority of his 39 shots in the first round. With that being said, Strome has averaged 2 shots per game against the Hurricanes in the regular season and has averaged 2 shots per game in the series thus far.

We wouldn’t put anybody off taking a ½ unit play on Strome Over 2.5 shots either at +150, but the safer and most likely winner is his Over 1.5 shots total. Strome has picked up 1 goal and 7 assists in the postseason.
