Best Lightning vs. Avalanche Stanley Cup Final Game 5 Player Props to Consider

Colorado Avalanche return home with a chance to win the Stanley Cup and beat the back-to back-champions after their overtime victory in Florida last time out during Game 4. Let’s check out what NHL player props we have in store for you tonight.

This is the ultimate do-or-die game for Tampa Bay. In fact, the rest of the series is now do-or-die as they will need to win three games in a row in order to lift the Stanley Cup in 2022.

It’s looking very unlikely they will do so. Colorado has been the much better team in the finals, and even last time out, when they were pretty much kept at arm’s length throw-out the entire game, they still found a way to win.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Colorado Avalanche

Lightning Prop Bet: Steven Stamkos

Steven Stamkos is the Lightning's captain and one of their main goalscoring threats. We have to believe he will get shots on net tonight with this being a win-or-bust game, especially because he only had 1 shot in the last game.

Stamkos has managed an average of exactly 3 shots per game throughout the playoffs. He took 3/1/5/1 shots in the series finals to date.

The best play might be Stamkos Over 2.5 shots but we couldn’t get a line for this. It’s probably around -140, but we do like the value at +130 for him to see 4 or more shots in tonight’s game.

Avalanche Prop Bet: Darcy Kuemper

Not only do we expect the Lightning to be strong shooting at net tonight, but we also believe that the Colorado Avalanche goaltender save line is very low and a must bet. Darcy Kuemper to see Over 25.5 saves is a fantastic NHL pick in a do-or-die game.

Tampa Bay failed to get shots on net in the opening two games with the Avalanche goaltender going under his saves total in both, but in the previous two, he has seen 26 and 37 saves. Although the Lightning were on home ice for both those games, we still like this line.

Tampa Bay know they need quality shots on net in order to keep pace with this very strong Colorado team, who have taken 51 shots more than Tampa throughout the playoffs despite playing three games less.

Lightning Prop Bet: Ondrej Palat

This could be the easiest winner of the night. Not only is Ondrej Palat the Lighting's joint post-season top goalscorer with 10 goals (along with Stamkos), but he also has the 3rd most amount of assists and has taken an average of 2.1 shots per game in this year’s playoffs.

Following the available NHL odds, we are targeting his Over 1.5 shot line tonight. Although we are laying -140 juice, we are confident the Lightning forward can find 2 or more shots on net for the 15th time this postseason.

Ignoring the first two games of the postseason when he had zero, he has seen two or shots in 14 of his last 19 playoff games.

Avalanche Prop Bet: Nazem Kadri

What else can we say about Nazem Kadri other than wow! He missed the first few games of the finals thanks to a thumb injury and then he steps up to the plate in his first game back with the overtime-winning goal.

Kadri has been impressive during these playoffs with 15 points in just 14 games, including a hat-trick in Game 4 against the St Louis Blues.

Kadri is back and we are playing his total points Over 0.5 tonight. He can score just as easily as he can pick up assists with 8 of his 15 points being an assist.
