Best Avalanche vs. Lightning Stanley Cup Final Game 3 Player Props to Consider

Tampa Bay come into tonight’s 3rd  Stanley Cup Final Series well and truly on the back foot as they trailed 2-0 and got absolutely romped 7-0 in the last game.

Now that Tampa is back on home ice they should be well and truly up for beating the Avalanche tonight, they were embarrassed last time out and set an all-time low playoff shot count with just 16.

Despite goaltender Vasilevski allowing seven goals, he was still one of their better players. Can the Lightning make a competitive series of this? Or will Colorado have one hand on the trophy come to the end of game three? Check out what player props we are targeting for tonight’s Stanley Cup Final.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Monday, June 20, 2022 – 08:00 PM EDT at Amalie Arena

NHL Prop Bet on Valeri Nichushkin

It’s as simple as this, we believe Valeri Nichushkin to see over 0.5 points should be priced in around -140 tonight at the NHL odds board.

He has been phenomenal against the Lightning all season long, picking up 1 point in one game in the regular season, and has scored 2 points in each of the first two games of this series.

Nichushkin has benefited greatly from playing on the same line as star player Nathan MacKinnon. Despite mainly targeting Lighting players tonight because they represent the best value, this is one Avalanche play we like a lot value-wise.

Albeit laying -125 for a player who has scored less than 1 point per game in this playoffs might be a foolish move, we are going to keep riding him until he goes cold, right now he is hot.

NHL Prop Bet on Victor Hedman

  • Hedman has only taken 2 shots less than the Lighting's post-season top shooter Nikita Kucherov.
  • He has averaged 3.10 shots in this postseason. Hedman is the best value on this Lighting team to see over 2.5 shots.
  • We took him to see over 2.5 in Game 1 and he only managed 1 shot, in Game 2 we passed, the Lighting saw their playoff low 16 shots and Victor Hedman manages three shots.

NHL Prop Bet on Nikita Kucherov

Kucherov is the Lightings' top shot taker this postseason with 3.20 shots per game. He only managed 1 shot in game one and zero in game two, one would be foolish to think he won’t shoot the puck a lot more tonight.

He has proven he can get shots away on this team, in his one game against the Avalanche in the regular season he managed to take 8 shots. Although Colorado shut him down in the first two games allowing him to take just one shot, tonight we believe +130 is a nice set of betting odds for Tampa Bay’s most dangerous player to see some shots on net.

We are more than happy to suspect the Lighting will at least want to take shots in tonight’s game, having set those unfortunate low shots record and losing both games on the road the Lightning will want to put it all on the ice tonight, that means having to pressure the Avalanche goaltender and take shots.

NHL Prop Pick: Nikita Kucherov Over 3.5 Shots (+130) with BMR’s Top-Rated Books and Betting Sites

NHL Prop Bet on Steven Stamkos

Lightning captain Steven Stamkos stated their 7-0 blowout loss was “unacceptable at this moment in the season” and to be fair he was right; he openly blames himself as much as the rest of his team.

Stamkos ended the regular season with the tied 6th most amount of points along with Austin Matthews, having scored 106 points, 62 assists, and 42 goals. During this postseason Stamkos has scored 9 goals in 19 games, which is tied with Ondrej Palat and the 7th most overall in the postseason.

Stamkos has scored in just 7 of the 19 playoff games to date and only managed a total of 4 shots across the opening two games of this series. We are liking the Lighting's captain and one of their main goals treats is to grab himself a goal tonight at +180 NHL odds.
