San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, January 9, 2022 – 04:25 PM EDT at SoFi Stadium
The 49ers are coming off of a 23-7 victory over the Houston Texans.
In their win, they gained 416 total yards with 6.8 yards per play. To be exact, San Francisco had 136 yards through the air and 86 yards on the ground.
The Texans, on the other hand, finished the game with 222 total yards and 3.6 yards per play. Houston also rushed for 175 yards and passed for 241 yards.
The Rams are coming off of a very close win of 20-19 over the Baltimore Ravens.
In their victory, they completed 6.7 yards per play while passing for 300 yards and rushing for 73.
The Ravens put up a good fight but completed 4.7 yards per play. Baltimore also passed for 162 yards and rushed for 165 yards.
I really like the extra points with San Francisco in this one, but overall, this should be a close and exciting game.
Currently, the Rams are favored by 4.5 points at your Top Sportsbooks. The last time these two met on the field was this season in week 10; the 49ers won 31-10. In their victory in week 10, the 49ers held the Rams to 52 rushing yards but allowed 226 passing yards, 5.1 yards per play. However, the 49ers gained 179 passing yards and 156 rushing yards on their end with 5.2 yards per play.
This time around, I think the score will be closer. The Rams are a smart team and should be able to adjust to the 49ers. However, when it all comes down to it, the 49ers have always been a weak spot for LA.
San Francisco has defeated the Rams in their last 5 meetings. On top of that, the 49ers have covered the spread in their last 6 games overall.
Again, I think the Rams will put up a big fight and also have a great chance of breaking their streak against the 49ers, I just don’t think it will be enough in the end. And in expectation of a close game, I will definitely take the team with the extra points.
