Typically, the NFL offseason is rife with premature speculation about the upcoming season. From the moment the confetti cascades over the Super Bowl-winning team at the end of one season, markets begin churning out NFL betting markets for the next season. Thus, stoking the embers of excitement among football fans almost immediately.

Super Bowl odds are usually the first market to hit the online sportsbook exchange. For instance, as Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in February, NFL odds for the upcoming Super Bowl LVII hit the press. And it’s been a constant stream of football betting action ever since.

Betting on the potential winner of Super Bowl 57 is one of the most common early markets. This is where bettors place bets on a specific team that they believe is the best bet to win the big game.

The best sportsbooks will have fun with it and, even, take it a step further. They’ll create a slew of betting options also known as “Super Bowl specials.” These are comprised of various bets such as futures, props, and more.

Super Bowl LVII Betting Specials

BetOnline, one of BMR’s top-rated books and betting sites released Super Bowl LVII specials that allow bettors more opportunities to bet on the next Super Bowl winner.

Below, we take a closer look at these markets and their corresponding NFL odds. Find out what these are and whether there is a diamond in the rough.

Super Bowl LVII Early Lines

  • AFC -125
  • NFC +105

To Win SBLVII Odds

Although the Buffalo Bills (+650 to win SBLVII) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+850 to win SBLVII) are the top two favorites at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review) to win Super Bowl 57, there are more teams shortlisted to win SBLVII at this sportsbook from the AFC than the NFC.

So, it’s really no surprise that the AFC (as a whole) has the edge over the NFC. Overall, six of the top ten teams on the Super Bowl odds board at BetOnline are from the AFC.

AFC Best Bets

  • The Kansas City Chiefs (+950) (Third best bet)
  • Los Angeles Chargers (+1000) (Fourth best bet)
  • The Cincinnati Bengals (+1800) (Seventh best bet)
  • Denver Broncos (+2000) (Ninth best bet)
  • Baltimore Ravens (+2200) (Tenth best bet)

NFC Best Bets

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • The Green Bay Packers (+1200) (Fifth best bet)
  • The Los Angeles Rams (+1200) (Sixth best bet)
  • The San Francisco 49ers (+1800) (Eighth best bet)

Super Bowl LVII Early Spread

When considering the Super Bowl winner this far in advance, there are too many unknowns that can make some markets almost impossible to handicap properly. This applies here with the point spread that is as random as it is vague. That said, there might be a way to approach it.

Super Bowl betting trends reveal an interesting titbit; that is, the team that wins almost always covers the point spread.

Underdogs have claimed the Super Bowl 24 times and favorites have covered the spread 29 times. The last eight winners in a row covered the point spread:

  • Rams (-4)
  • Buccaneers (+3)
  • Chiefs (-1.5)
  • Patriots (-2.5)
  • Eagles (+4.5)
  • Patriots (-3)
  • Broncos (-4.5)
  • Patriots (+1)

So, depending on how you slice your early NFL picks (with the AFC or NFC), you might consider a similar lean on this bet too.

  • AFC -1.5 Pts (-110)
  • NFC +1.5 Pts (-110)

Super Bowl LVII Early Total

Short of a crystal ball, this is another impossible market to predict at this point in time. Moreover, turning to past Super Bowl trends wasn’t helpful because it would appear that the outcome is split 50-50 between the Over and Under.

In the last 56 Super Bowls, the Under has cashed 27 times while the Over has cashed 27 times. In addition, the total has pushed the closing number only twice.

  • Over 49.5 Pts -110
  • Under 49.5 Pts-110

Super Bowl LVII Winning Division

This market is somewhat interesting. At first glance, it would appear to stand in contrast with the overarching Super Bowl 57 market. However, upon closer inspection, it actually doesn’t.

As mentioned above, the Buffalo Bills are the top faves followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You’d think their respective divisions – the AFC East and the NFC South – would be at the top of this market too. They’re not.

The best bet is the AFC West. This is because it is the home of not one but two potential Super Bowl contenders — the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. Similarly, the NFC West trumps the NFC South for the same reason.

It contains another two potential Super Bowl contenders in the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFC East and the AFC South don’t have a team inside the Top 10. Thus, these two divisions have deemed the longshots of the field.

  • AFC West +350
  • AFC East +450
  • NFC West +450
  • AFC North +550
  • NFC North +600
  • NFC South +600
  • NFC East +1000
  • AFC South +1200
