49ers and the Raiders Leave Playoff Qualification Late
What a regular NFL season it’s been with swings and roundabouts continuing on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders were drinking in the last chance saloon of qualification. Those drinks tasted like commiseration ones for the San Francisco 49ers as the L.A. Rams led 17-0 at one point.
There’s no doubt the 49ers have been erratically inconsistent all season with their two match-winning quarterbacks, Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance. The thing is that strength is a weakness and vice versa so supporters didn’t have a clue what might happen during any given Sunday, neither did opposing teams. They finally managed to play their “get out of jail free” card in overtime after a Robbie Gould 24-yard field goal took them to the playoffs.
How Derek Has Kept the Carr Running All Season Is Amazing
Sunday’s winner takes all match between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers didn’t disappoint as it went to overtime. Justin Herbert has been sensational all season for the Chargers and it’s amazing they lost given he threw 383-yards, but his opposite number, Derek Carr, has been inspirational all season for the Raiders.
“Quarterbacks win Super Bowls”, they say, and Derek Carr has unfinished Super Bowl business from 2016. Carr was at his inspirational best leading them to a 12-4 regular NFL season tally but an injury before their first play-off match against the Houston Texans cruelly robbed Carr the opportunity to take the team to the Super Bowl.
Amazingly, that was the first time the franchise made the playoffs since 2002 and they’ve struggled since in the AFC West. I’m not sure the Las Vegas Raiders are in as good shape overall as the team from the 2016 season rely on Derek Carr too heavily and their price of +5000 with the best online sportsbooks reflects their chances.

Trust Belichick to Rally the Troops and Beat the Bills
As readers and followers will know, I’ve been against the Buffalo Bills from the off, mainly on the fact that their price is too short to accurately reflect their Super Bowl LVI credentials. Similarly, the market has moved strongly towards the Bills as the regular NFL season drew to a close, bringing value once again to the New England Patriots. Last week’s loss at the Miami Dolphins was a profitable one for readers as we went in heavy on the money line and spread.
I expected the Dolphins to continue their recent dominance over the Patriots like I expect the Pats to match up better and be better focused this week versus the Bills. It’s not hard to believe this could have been Bill Belichick’s plan all along and there’s no coach in the sport better known for coming into his own in the playoffs. Take the +170 about the New England Patriots beating the Buffalo Bills in this week’s Super Wild Card Weekend.

Trust Mike Vrabel’s Titans to Get the Job Done
Readers and followers already have Super Bowl LVI tickets at +2800 on the Tennessee Titans in the hope Derrick Henry would make it back for the playoffs. It’s a huge bonus that they have the one extra week off due to their hard-earned number one seeding and I don’t see any reason to stop us from adding Mike Vrabel’s gangster squad to win the AFC Conference.
We already have Kansas City Chiefs tickets for the conference and Super Bowl LVI in our back pockets and with average luck, they will meet the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Conference final now. It’s entirely feasible that playing one less match could prove pivotal at this stage of the season as fatigue becomes prevalent so take the Tennessee Titans to win the AFC Conference at +450.

Shanahan and His Team Know what it Takes to Make the Super Bowl
Drinking in the last chance saloon all year and getting out of jail free could be all that’s needed to inspire the San Francisco 49ers to a playoff run, and let’s not forget it’s only a couple of seasons since they made the Super Bowl final. The spine of that team is still in place with Garoppolo, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel and that experience could prove vital meaning their price of +2500 is worth adding to our perm.
