The Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7-1) will cap off their regular season on Sunday when they take on the Baltimore Ravens (8-8) on the road. Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes are still, barely, alive after Week 17’s win over the Browns while the Ravens have nothing left to play for but a better first-round draft pick.

Can the Steelers clinch a postseason appearance for Big Ben’s last hoorah? Below, we’ll take a look at the early NFL odds and best sportsbook to bet with.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Sunday, January 09, 2022 – 01:00 PM EST at M&T Bank Stadium

The Steelers entered Week 18 as 2.5-point favorites and are now getting the points for this matchup. As for the Ravens, they were 5.5-point underdogs last week and are the favored team in Week 18. According to Heritage Sports (visit our Heritage Sports Review), Baltimore is a 5.5-point favorite over Pittsburgh with the over/under at 41.5.

The Matchup

The Steelers clinched a 26-14 victory over the Browns on Monday night as Big Ben did one final lap around Heinz Field. Roethlisberger went 22-34 for 266 yards and one touchdown in what is said to be the last home game of his career before he throws in the towel.

With COVID and injuries taking a toll on the Steelers roster, they could be looking to lean on rookie running back Najee Harris, after he finished Sunday’s victory with a career-best 188 rushing yards. But it won’t be easy using him since Baltimore’s defense knows how to put a stop to the run. So, it’ll come down to Big Ben’s washed-up throwing arm.

With the Week 17 win, the Steelers are still in the hunt for a playoff spot but they will need to beat the Ravens this week and have the Jaguars upset the Indianapolis Colts. Baltimore’s playoff chances are even slimmer to none as they need to take down the Steelers and have the Colts and Chargers lose while also needing the Miami Dolphins to lose or tie against the New England Patriots.

The Ravens enter this week coming off their fifth-straight loss after falling to the Rams 20-19. Starting quarterback Lamar Jackson has missed three straight games with an ankle injury and his status is still up in the air for Sunday after he didn’t practice on Wednesday.

This means that the Ravens might have to rely on Tyler Huntley once again after he finished last week’s loss completing 20-32 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown. And aside from this contest being Roethlisberger’s last, the Ravens could also be saying farewell to six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Calais Campbell.

For our NFL picks, this game will really depend on if Baltimore’s QB Lamar Jackson is playing or not, and by the looks of it right now, it looks like he’s not. Without Jackson, this Ravens offense is very weak and has only put up an average of 22 points through their last eight outings.

Even if he does end up playing, he will still be battling his ankle injury which won’t match up well against Pittsburgh’s sack monster T.J. Watt. Expect the future Hall of Fame QB to go out on a high note.
