NFL Conference Championship Games Picks: Which Teams Will Reach Super Bowl LVI?

How did we get here? After the greatest weekend of football in my natural life, we have one of the odder final fours in the NFL since the Jacksonville Jaguars were in the AFC title game in 2018.

It’s the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Kansas City Chiefs and somehow the Los Angeles Rams at home taking on the San Francisco 49’ers in a combination of games that no one… and I repeat, no one saw coming.

And now the people at BookMakers Review have asked me to predict the two teams that will play in SoFi Stadium in two weeks at the Super Bowl, and I’m scared to do so.

Why? Did you watch football at all the last week??? That’s why! Now, let’s recap the action from this past weekend before delivering some picks.

Divisional Round Recap

We live in a world where Matt Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo are one step away from the Super Bowl. This is not a bad thing as Stafford had a great season and I even predicted that Stafford would be the MVP in one of my first columns for BMR late last year.

Cincinnati’s chance to win comes off their rookie kicker Evan McPherson and Joe Burrow as they were the linchpin to keeping hope alive against the Tennessee Titans… who sacked Joe Burrow nine times last week (insert your favorite Principal Rooney gif here).

In one of the biggest defensive efforts in playoff history, damn near a record and somehow a sophomore quarterback and a rookie kicker did exactly what they needed to do to set fire to the Titans’ hopes of heading back to the AFC Championship game.

Pro Tip: If the Titans are ever the one seed again, bet the opponent as if they’ve never won a playoff game. The Titans haven’t won as the one seed since Mike Vrabel took over a few years back. Also, Ryan Tannehill… that poor bastard can’t catch a break.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday, January 30, 2022 – 03:00 PM EST at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium

As we saw on Sunday, the Chiefs can be beaten by a team with an offense as dynamic as their offense is, but Patrick Mahomes is on a redemption run this playoff and I cannot put anything past him.

For me, this game comes down to pressure on both sides of the ball and that makes it even tougher because I refuse to shade either team after what they did last weekend.

But, I am gonna go with the Kansas City Chiefs returning to the Super Bowl for the third straight time, despite the moneyline being at -350 via our friends at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review).

I also suggest taking the over 54 at BetOnline as well, since it's a toss-up at -110.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams

Sunday, January 30, 2022 – 06:30 PM EST at SoFi Stadium

Now the NFC Championship game is a little easier. Despite beating Aaron Rodgers, in Green Bay, in below-zero temperatures, how do you not put your money on Los Angeles after the way they were able to get past Tom Brady and the Buccaneers?

While the Rams are TRASH at holding a lead late in the game (as made evident on Sunday), the Rams defense was able to create turnover opportunities, get to the quarterback and also defeat Tom Brady at home with the game on the line. That right there is a trifecta that is akin to finding the Ark of the Covenant

Take the Rams at -175 via BetOnline and again take the over 46.5 which is also priced at a toss-up -110.

Am I a football genius? We’ll find out this Sunday night!
