After losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, the Indianapolis Colts (6-6) head to Houston. Meanwhile, the Texans (2-9) will try to squeeze out their third win of the season against Indy following a close loss to the Jets in Week 12.  Which team will bounce back in lucky Week 13?

Below, we’ll take a look at the early odds and best sportsbooks to bet with.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans

Sunday, December 05, 2021 – 01:00 PM EST at NRG Stadium

The Colts entered Week 12 as 3-point underdogs and are now the favorite for this matchup. As for the Texans, they were a surprising 2.5-point favorite last week, but are back to being the underdogs. According to Bovada, Indy is a 9-point favorite over Houston with the over/under at 45.5.

The Matchup

The Colts were on a three-game victory streak until they lost a 10-point lead and fell to Tom Brady’s team, 38-31, at home last week. It was a game of turnovers for Indy’s offense, who gave the ball away a total of five times which included quarterback Carson Went throwing two interceptions and causing a fumble. The defense, specifically the run defense, didn’t play any better, allowing Tampa’s star back Leonard Fournette to rack up 100 rushing yards, 33 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Overall, they held Brady to 226 passing yards, a touchdown, and one interception.

As for the Texans, they continued to struggle and fell 21-14 to the New York Jets. They had a chance to hold on with a 14-3 lead in the first half, but let that go in the third quarter. Texans’ third-string quarterback Tyrod Taylor finished the day with 158 passing yards, two touchdowns, plus an interception. Wideout Brandon Cooks led the team in the air with 45 yards on three receptions and one score. And running back David Johnson completed 39 yards are 10 carries. Other than those two, there is really no other help on the offense for Taylor to lean on.

This matchup should be easier for the Colts this week and enable them to get back to their winning ways. But, don’t let this Texans team fool you. They somehow managed a win over the Tennessee Titans just two weeks ago. But before that, their only victory came against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. Still, there’s not a lot of hope left for this lone-star state team.

Prediction

The Bucs kept Indy’s running back star Johnathan Taylor wrapped up last week, allowing him to finish with just 83 yards on 16 carries and one touchdown. However, coming up against the league’s weakest rush defense this Sunday, Taylor should be ready to get back to his normal self.

No to mention the fact the last time the two faced each other this season Taylor produced 145 yards. The Colts will take advantage of that weakness again and it’s only up from here. Sorry Houston, but you do have a problem.
