Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday, October 02, 2022 – 01:00 PM EDT at Lincoln Financial Field
Jaguars’ Prop Bet: James Robinson
- Over 51.5 Rushing Yards
Few could have imagined this would be an anticipated game in Week 4, but the Eagles and Jaguars are playing some very good, balanced football to start this season. Part of Jacksonville’s success has been running back James Robinson, who has rushed for at least 64 yards and a touchdown in all three games this season. He just had 100 yards in Los Angeles in the upset win of the Chargers that wasn’t even close.
In a season where so many of the big-name running backs are getting off to slow starts, Robinson has been a breath of fresh air after he was injured late last season. But he looks 100%, and his 50-yard touchdown run against the Chargers is the kind of play he is capable of, nearly hitting his over in one snap.
The Eagles were getting blown up by big runs in Detroit in Week 1, and the kind of game D’Andre Swift had (144 yards and a touchdown) would be a dream scenario for Robinson here. However, the Eagles have tightened things up better in the other two games.
Still, look for Robinson to do his best to not leave Trevor Lawrence in one-dimensional mode and a sitting duck like Carson Wentz, who took 9 sacks last week. Robinson may not sniff 100 yards again, but over 51.5 is more than doable in what will hopefully be a fun game between new contenders.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers
Sunday, October 02, 2022 – 04:05 PM EDT at Bank of America Stadium
Panthers’ Prop Bet: Baker Mayfield
- Over 204.5 Passing Yards
Baker Mayfield has not passed for more than 170 yards in the last two weeks, but Arizona is ranked 30th in passing yards allowed, often looking clueless at defending open receivers.
If there is a team the Panthers know how to beat, it is Arizona with three straight wins since 2019. Mayfield played a better Arizona defense last year and threw for 234 yards in that game despite being injured and leaving early in a 23-point loss.
Speaking of injury, running back Christian McCaffrey is banged up again. He hopes to play Sunday, but it is not definite. That’s all the more reason to get more out of the passing game with D.J. Moore needing to establish a connection with Mayfield. He has 88 yards in three games this season.
But the Cardinals look like a defense that can cure an opponent’s passing ills. This is not a high bar to clear for the over.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Detroit Lions
Sunday, October 02, 2022 – 01:00 PM EDT at Ford Field
Seahawks’ Prop Bet: Geno Smith
- Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Geno Smith has had two decent games against Denver and Atlanta, and one horrible game where the offense scored zero points against a stingy San Francisco defense. But in his good games, Smith had two touchdown passes in each. He still has solid talent around him with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
But the appeal of this matchup is the Detroit defense that has allowed a league-high 93 points. Scoring is coming in bunches in these Detroit games this year, and it looks like Jared Goff and company will be able to hang a decent number on this Seattle team, so Smith is going to have to throw to keep up.
When these teams met late last season, the Seahawks won 51-29 behind 4 touchdown passes by Russell Wilson. Smith is obviously no Wilson, though he has led more scoring drives this season than Wilson has for Denver. But Metcalf had 3 touchdown catches that day and is already jawing in the media with Detroit corner Jeff Okudah.
That should be a fun matchup this weekend, but even if Metcalf doesn’t catch three scores again, Smith should be able to throw two to some Seahawks for the over.

New York Jets vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday, October 02, 2022 – 01:00 PM EDT at Acrisure Stadium
Steelers’ Prop Bet: Pat Freiermuth
- At Least 36 Receiving Yards
You can take your pick on the ridiculous things Pittsburgh’s offense does or doesn’t do, such as never throwing to the middle of the field or not getting George Pickens more involved.
But one of the worst things the team did in Cleveland was not getting tight end Pat Freiermuth involved until the five minutes. With two quick catches for 41 yards, Freiermuth quickly hit his over in receiving yards. He had 75 yards in Cincinnati in Week 1 and a touchdown against the Patriots in Week 2.
He is the best receiver on the team not named Diontae Johnson, and as a sizable tight end, he gives Mitch Trubisky a bigger, reliable target to throw to.
If the Steelers are going to show any life on offense against the Jets, and if Trubisky is going to hold off rookie Kenny Pickett from taking his starting job for good, then he is going to have to get Freiermuth involved early and often. Hitting 36 yards should not be an issue.
NFL Prop Pick: Pat Freiermuth At Least 36 Receiving Yards (-113) at Bovada
Buffalo Bills vs. Baltimore Ravens
Sunday, October 02, 2022 – 01:00 PM EDT at M&T Bank Stadium
Ravens’ Prop Bet: Mark Andrews
- Player Performance Double: Score a Touchdown and Ravens Win
Finally, let’s go big on the biggest game of the week. Mark Andrews is probably the most unstoppable tight end outside of Travis Kelce in the NFL right now. He has 3 touchdowns in the last two games, and Lamar Jackson is on fire with 10 touchdown passes this season. Andrews is his most trusted target in the red zone.
The Bills are down their best safety (Micah Hyde) and best corner (Tre’Davious White) due to injuries. The game could be a sloppy one if it rains badly, so all the flashy offensive statistics one might expect may not happen in this game featuring the top two MVP candidates if you look at the NFL odds going into Week 4.
So, if you are just looking for a likely touchdown scorer on a team that could very well win after playing 11 fairly sound quarters of football (out of 12) this season, then look at the player performance double for Andrews to score and the Ravens to win.
