The NFL has a rare doubleheader on Monday night for Week 2. The Tennessee Titans will look to defeat the Buffalo Bills for the third year in a row, while the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles face off to see which team will start 2-0.

We also get some of the leading candidates for Offensive Player of the Year this season in Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen and Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson. New Philadelphia wide receiver A.J. Brown is also second in the NFL in receiving with 155 yards in Week 1. Plus, there is always Tennessee running back Derrick Henry, who scored 3 touchdowns on Monday night against the Bills last season.

With the hope for some high-scoring battles on Monday night, we have our NFL prop picks for touchdown scorers in this Monday slate, which is something you can always bet in many of the top-rated sportsbooks.

Tennessee Titans vs. Buffalo Bills

Monday, September 19, 2022 – 07:15 PM EDT at Highmark Stadium

Titans’ Prop Bet: Derrick Henry (-120)

  • Most Likely TD Scorer

Anyone with a stake in Derrick Henry had to be infuriated with the Tennessee offense in Week 1 against the Giants. Despite Henry getting 21 of the team’s 26 rushing attempts, both touchdowns went to backup runner Dontrell Hilliard on pass plays from Ryan Tannehill. That even included a 23-yard play.

Let’s just say that should not happen again this season. Henry continues to get the carries for this offense, and Buffalo has been one of his best opponents in recent years. He has scored in three straight meetings with one score in 2019, two scores in 2020, and three scores in 2021’s win on Monday night.

Are the Titans, without A.J. Brown, still the kind of offense capable of scoring 34 points on this improved Buffalo defense with Von Miller? It sure doesn’t look like it, but with the expectation that Tennessee is going to need some scores to beat this Buffalo team, Henry is as safe of a touchdown bet as it gets.

Bills’ Prop Bet: Gabriel Davis (+160)

  • Best Value TD Scorer

This could be Gabriel Davis’s year to shine in Buffalo with Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders gone. Who else to start the team’s scoring in Week 1 than the receiver who caught 4 touchdowns in Kansas City in the playoffs? Davis also hauled in a deep ball late against the Rams for a great start to 2022.

Davis has the sixth-highest touchdown odds in this matchup, but he should be one of the people most likely to score. The only receiver Josh Allen should look at more in the red zone is Stefon Diggs, but he sometimes has his hands full with the best matchups. Davis has been the beneficiary of this coverage and that should continue against Tennessee.

Titans’ Prop Bet: Treylon Burks (+600)

  • Longshot TD Scorer

The Titans have to be looking at first-round rookie Treylon Burks as the replacement to A.J. Brown. His debut was encouraging with three catches for 55 yards on a limited number of snaps.

If you are looking for a longshot to maybe cash in late in the game with Buffalo leading comfortably, the rookie for Tennessee might be your best bet in this one.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Monday, September 19, 2022 – 08:30 PM EDT at Lincoln Financial Field

Vikings’ Prop Bet: Justin Jefferson (-130)

  • Most Likely TD Scorer

No one had more receiving yards in Week 1 than Justin Jefferson, who set a career-high with 184 yards. He also caught 2 touchdowns against the Packers. It was a wildly successful start for Jefferson in Kevin O’Connell’s new offensive system. O’Connell was Cooper Kupp’s offensive coordinator with the Rams last season when Kupp won the receiving triple crown, Offensive Player of the Year award, and Super Bowl MVP.

It was arguably the greatest season by a wide receiver in NFL history, and that is the bar that Jefferson would love to match or get in the debate for now that he is in O’Connell’s system.

Jefferson also has extra motivation to perform in this one, his first game against Philadelphia. The Eagles infamously bypassed Jefferson in the 2020 draft for Jalen Reagor, a first-round bust who was actually traded to Minnesota in late August. Jefferson may not put up 184 yards and 2 touchdowns again this week, but he should find the end zone at least once.

Eagles’ Prop Bet: Jalen Hurts (+130)

  • Best Value TD Scorer

Congratulations to Miles Sanders for ending his long drought without finding the end zone. Sanders scored a touchdown in Detroit after going all of 2021 scoreless. Sanders was one of four Eagles to score a rushing touchdown in Week 1.

But the best option down near the goal line just may be quarterback Jalen Hurts. He has 14 rushing touchdowns in 20 career starts. All but one of his touchdowns has been run in from inside the 7-yard line.

The Packers had a goal-line stuff on fourth down last week after A.J. Dillon couldn’t score. If the Eagles get into that position in this game, look for them to call on Hurts to finish the drive. I would sooner trust Hurts to score in consecutive games than Sanders.

Eagles’ Prop Bet: Boston Scott (+500)

  • Longshot TD Scorer

The biggest troll would be to pick Jalen Reagor (+1300) against his former team, but he didn’t even play an offensive snap in Week 1. Instead, Boston Scott is another one of those backfield options for the Eagles that could be a sneaky value NFL pick.

Scott scored 7 touchdowns for the Eagles last season, and he added another on Sunday in Detroit despite only getting 4 carries. Including the playoffs where Scott scored Philadelphia’s first touchdown in Tampa Bay, Scott has scored a touchdown in his last four games for the Eagles.

If he could make it five games in a row, you have a nice little win there at these NFL odds.
