According to Chairman Peter Dubens the name change reflects the company\’s diversification over the last five-years.
“Today\’s change in name to 365 Media Group plc now properly reflects the mix in group revenue and activities that has gradually evolved over the last 5 years. When we listed in 2001, most consumer internet connectivity was through narrow band. Our network of sport sites generated little revenue but did help drive customers to our gambling websites. At that time advertising revenue was a mere £175,000 for the year. Since then, the explosion in broadband connectivity has both dramatically increased the usage and usability of our sites as well as create significant advertising and affiliate revenues to the extent that advertising revenue over the past 5 years have increased 16 fold.”
“As a result, the group now has 4 distinct revenue streams, namely: advertising, affiliate, content syndication and gambling, all driven through our network of websites. We feel that 365 Media Group plc is a better reflection of the company\’s current position and future aspirations.”
