Don’t miss our two top tennis plays for this Wednesday’s action in Paris with the players from the bottom half of the draw fighting for a place in the 3rd round on the women’s competition. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Vesnina vs. Azarenka

The former world no.1 – Victoria Azarenka – couldn’t have asked for a better way to start her campaign in Wimbledon. Despite losing the opening set the All England Club, the two-time Australian Open champion proved too strong for the American teenager – Catherine Bellis. Known as one of the greatest returners in tennis history, Azarenka created 16 break point opportunities throughout the match.

After winning the biggest title of her career at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Elena Vesnina only won 40.00 of the matches since that victory. Despite her undeniable quality, Vesnina is also one of the most inconsistent players on the WTA Tour and her recent results are a perfect example of that. The Russian also needed three sets on her debut in Wimbledon against Anna Blinkova.

This will be the 8th career meeting between these two players with Azarenka leading on the h2h by 7 – 0.

As the h2h suggests, Azarenka is a terrible match-up for this opponent. Adding to this, Vesnina never won a single set on all their previous seven meetings. With this in mind, Victoria is the clear favourite to win this match at 1/2 at William Hill while Bet365 offers 81/50 for Elena’s victory. For those who want to take a higher risk, Azarenka’s -3 game handicap at 21/25 at Pinnacle is also an interesting approach for this contest.

Giorgi vs. Keys

After struggling with several physical problems throughout 2017, Madison Keys is finally returning to her best level. At the age of 22, the American is one of the most promising young players on the WTA Tour. In addition to her brilliant 28 – 10 record on grass, Keys won 72.22% of the matches played throughout her career in Wimbledon.

Playing on grass brings the best out of Camila Giorgi with an outstanding 67.92% career record on this surface while her overall record on other surfaces is only 56.91%. Despite her undeniable quality, Giorgi is also known as one of the most unpredictable players on the WTA Tour. Looking now at Camila’s campaign on this event, the Italian was far from impressive on her debut with a 5 – 7 6 – 4 6 – 4 win over Alize Cornet.

Even though Camila is always a dangerous opponent on this surface, it’s hard to ignore Madison’s current price to win this match at 61/100 at Pinnacle. On the other hand, Giorgi is available at 3/2 at BetVictor. With this in mind, our recommendation is for you to add Keys to your tennis betting picks to book a place in the following round.
