Sportwetten Gera, Pagebet and BinaryBet close among others, while CricketBet re-launches as CricketBetLive and Samvo reappears in Alderney

Amongst the bookmakers who closed we have:
Sportwetten Gera, which on August 20 suspended operations with immediate effect claiming legal reasons. Rating coverage suspended (2.5+).
Pagebet\’s online operation lasted just few months before the UK bookmaker went back to managing only its high-street shops.
BetwithRed.Com transferred customers to BGbet.com as owner CasinoRed decided to concentrate on its core casino product. Rating coverage suspended (2.5).
Binarybet was merged into extrabet.com which is now offering financial and sports binary, fixed-odds betting, sports spread betting and a casino all under one single account. Rating coverage suspended (2.5).
At MegaSB and OnsideBet is not clear what happened as when we checked we simply found that a standard parked page replaced the bookmaker sites. Rating coverage suspended (2.5).
RacingOdds, which we had started covering last month, was merged into Sportsbet Australia. Rating coverage suspended (2.5+).
Skybook (2.5) is understood to have moved from ASI Software to a turnkey provider, BetEZ, powered by Digital Gaming Solutions.
CricketBet re-launched as CricketBetLive offering a quite generous bonus. And while being specialized in one sport may help in some ways, what is going to happen when the players have a very good season (and while I personally don\’t bet cricket I\’m sure is a matter of when not if) and you don\’t have any other sport offer to balance your revenues?Rather on top of that you have given away rather generous bonus offers. All in all, while I know the site is well-backed this is in my opinion one to hit and go as fast as you can.
Samvo, which closed in 2007 after lees than one year in operation, re-launched in Alderney.
BMR will review both CricketBetLive and Samvo in the coming months.
