eGaming Review reveals that the Remote Gambling Association was not interested in becoming “heavily involved” in the recent lobbying effort of Congressman Barney Frank to regulate online gambling in the United States.

“That is for a mix of reasons. Some companies have never been involved in the US. Others meanwhile have left the US alone and are concentrating elsewhere. Some are worried about what their share price reaction would be,” Clive Hawkswood, CEO of the RGA, told eGaming Review.

In other news, the Responsibility in Gambling Trust and the Economic and Social Research Council will be funding a new research into internet gambling and problems arising from it. Researchers from the University of Leeds will be interviewing UK citizens on the how, when, where and what of internet gambling.
