The British bookmaker has acquired 12 bookie shops from John Harney and now owns more betting shops then its Irish-based rival Paddy Power. Ladbrokes now has 159 bookmakers in Ireland versus the 149 of Paddy Power.
“We are very pleased with the deal. These are good shops in the right location and for the right price,” said a spokesman for Ladbrokes, which declined to reveal the value of the transaction or give other details about the shops\’ turnover or profitability.
