Snai, the largest Italian betting provider, took bets for over EUR 135m and reported a profit of around EUR 1.5m, while most of the smaller providers said to have lost money on the World Cup event.
Elsewhere, revenues of Greek betting operator OPAP from its fixed odds game Pame Stihima exceeded EUR 450 million during the World Cup, well ahead of estimates of between EUR 200 to 250 million, according to several local press reports.
