The retired basketball star revealed that he is addicted to high-stakes betting.
“Do I have a gambling problem? Yeah, I do have a gambling problem. But I don\’t consider it a problem because I can afford to gamble,” Barkley told ESPN.
“I\’m not going to quit. I\’ve just got to get it under control.”
“I\’m hoping in the next six months I can realise I can gamble for a little money and be happy with gambling for a little money instead of gambling for a lot and losing for a lot. I\’ve got to reach a happy medium,” Barkley said.
Barkley added that he doubted golf star John Daly lost $60 million gambling.
“I could believe he has lost $20 million,” Barkley said.
“If he has lost $60 million, he would have to have made $200 million and I don\’t think he has made $200 million in his career.”
“I wish him luck with our gambling addiction,” he concluded.
