A spokesperson for the Austrian bookmaker said the company was in talks with PartyGaming about lobbying together to show a united stance for the industry in the European Union, but denied talking to the online poker firm about a sale.
Andrew Lee of Dresdner Kleinwort said a deal between the two companies would make perfect sense.
“Combining online poker with sports betting creates opportunities for synergies and cost savings,” he said.
