The Isle of Man-based online sportsbook, which pays $500,000 a year to advertise with the Toronto Argonauts, has hired a lobbyist in Ontario to fight a clause in the consumer bill proposed by Minister Gerry Phillips that would prohibit advertisements for internet betting sites in the province.
Bowmans added that it\’s business as usual in terms of accepting bets from US residents.
“Our Isle of Man licence is a tier one licence. That can help sell us to our gaming clients. It’s business as usual for us,” the online sportsbook said.
