According to eGaming Review, Calvin Ayre, founder of Bodog, said: “I would have bought Sportsbook for millions if they had not cut off negotiations.”

The disposal of Sportingbet\’s US-facing operations for $1 as well as the sale of VIP.com, also for $1, are sure to cause concerns among minority shareholders of Sportingbet plc and Leisure and Gaming.

“I am still interested in purchasing more operations of public companies if any do get floated to tender, including looking at taking over Sportsbook or VIP if shareholders are interested in a better offer,” added Ayre.
