The PayPal service will be integrated within the account management section of the Betfair website so that the exchange\’s European customers will be able to deposit and withdraw funds to/from their Betfair accounts, as well as make payments to their peers in real time.
“It is a significant step for Betfair to be the first online gambling company approved by PayPal Europe. This will undoubtedly also give us access to a large and growing base of experienced online users,” commented Mark Davies, Betfair\’s Director of Communications.

By having PayPal available to Betfair’s customers, PayPal will enable European users to pay and receive funds safely and securely, without sharing any financial information from simply an email address,” said Geoff Iddison, Chief Executive of PayPal UK.
In separate news, Betfair signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Belgian Football Association, the sporting body that regulates football in Belgium. This agreement will operate in the same manner as the other agreements signed to date.
