Belarus goalkeeper arrested for match-fixing

According to media reports, Valery Shantalosov offered money to his Belarus teammates to underperform in the last two qualifiers for the 2004 European Championship. Shantalosov is believed to have been contacted by an unidentified Russian gambler before and after the two games, which Belarus lost to Czech Republic 3-1 and to Moldova 2-1.
