The Austrian sportsbook has filed an objection with the Administrative Court in Dresden to secure a temporary suspension of the prohibition to operate until a final decision on the execution of the ban is reached.
On August 10, the Chemnitz regional council in Neugersdorf ordered Bwin to cease offering and advertising sports betting services in the German federal state of Saxony, a ban which effectively extended to all the 16 German states.
In separate news, players of soccer club VfB Stuttgart will continue to wear shirts that advertise BWin. The Administrative Court in Stuttgart has granted an urgent motion to this effect filed by the club after that the regional council in Karlsruhe had ordered VfB Stuttgart to stop advertising sports betting services.
