BSkyB has launched the ISWI interactive television play-by-play betting system

Through a one-year trial agreement between ISWI\’s wholly owned subsidiary, Global Interactive Gaming, and SkyBet, the interactive television version of SportXction wagering software has been made available to all of BSkyB\’s 7.6 million satellite TV households throughout the UK and Ireland.

GIG intends to offer wagering on over 1,000 

Sky Sports\’ broadcasts of soccer, cricket, golf, rugby, tennis and snooker during 2005 as a SkyBet branded product named WINPlay.

Using the BSkyB digital television platform, subscribers are able to make interactive wagers using their television remote control devices while watching a sporting event. A display of the wagering propositions and odds information are available simultaneously with the game\’s action on the screen.
