The WTO panel will hear arguments from both Antigua and the United States after the US declared to be in compliance with last year\’s WTO ruling in the dispute with the online gambling jurisdiction and Antigua & Barbuda challenged that declaration.
“These arguments are submitted in writing. We have made our submission. The US has made a submission. We have rebutted their submission and the US will rebut our rebuttal, then the panel will formally convene towards the end of this month to hear arguments from both sides,” Dr. John Ashe, Antigua’s Ambassador to the WTO, told the Antigua Sun.
Dr. Ashe also said that the European Union and Japan, which have expressed an interest in the case, will have the opportunity to submit arguments to the panel.
