A Stalemate Between Two Sides We Can\’t Trust

Champions Leicester (we won\’t be saying that for much longer) continue their dreadful season with a trip to the south coast to take on inconsistent Southampton.

Of all the matches in the Premier League this weekend this one looks by some distance the trickiest games to call and although I will be making a recommendation, I won\’t be backing anything in this match.

These are two sides that I just can\’t go write in the Premier League this season and the erratic form of the two means that betting on either Saints or Foxes matches should come with a public “wealth” warning.

Southampton did produce a big win over Liverpool in the Football League Cup and with one foot already up Wembley Way, that may be where their attention is focused.

In the Saints\’ last two home Premier League matches they were betting convincingly by West Brom and Tottenham and with four successive league losses and without the services of top goalscorer Charlie Austin who is still ruled out through injury the 1.95 on a home win does very little to interest me.

Last season if we were being offered 4.50 on a Leicester win at St Mary\’s we would\’ve had the mortgage on but this season Claudio Ranieri\’s side just can\’t be trusted.

The Foxes\’ have just ONE Premier League win in their last six and look a side that are focused on the cup\’s (Champions League and FA Cup) rather than saving themselves from more embarrassment in what is fast becoming the worst title defense Pemier League history.

The visitors are 4.50 for the win as we\’ve already mentioned, but you will have to be a brave man to take that price as they haven\’t won on the road in the Premier League all season and I can\’t see them starting now.

Both of these sides just can\’t be trusted to perform and for that reason, I am firmly sitting on the fence and suggesting a very, very small play on the draw what is being offered at a rather generous looking 3.50 at Pinnacle.
