Having already combed through the three biggest games in the Big 12 this week, our handicapper makes it a clean sweep of the conference with free NCAAF picks for the contests between Oklahoma and Texas Tech plus West Virginia and Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders
Saturday, November 26, 2022 – 07:30 PM EST at Jones AT&T Stadium
Yet another Big 12 game doomed to the bottom of the Nielsen Ratings with this prime-time dust bowl collision on FS1 between Oklahoma and Texas Tech battling one of the country’s best-known rivalries for viewers.
Early Action on Sooners
Most will tune into ABC for the more attractive contest pitting Notre Dame and Southern Cal, a game the sportsbooks will have very little trouble attracting interest from the betting public.
They’re trying to generate interest in the Sooners and Red Raiders with college football odds currently at Oklahoma favored by 2-2½ and the scoreboard target running 63½-64.
Tech 5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS in Lubbock
In so many ways, Brent Venables and the Sooners have never recovered from the 49-0 butt-whipping administered by the Texas Longhorns in early October, winning three of the five games since then and only managing to cover two of those.
Joey McGuire brings his Red Raiders back home following a hard-fought 14-10 win at Iowa State a week ago, Texas Tech closing as a 4-point underdog at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review) and overcoming a stout Cyclones defense with a fourth-quarter drive to win it.
Last 4 Meetings Bust the Totals
At least there is some geography to lend to the Sooners and Red Raiders being rivals, though Oklahoma’s commanding 23-6 lead in the series suggests it’s really not much of a rivalry, especially of late with Texas Tech losing the last 10.
While building their current win streak over the Red Raiders to 10, the Sooners have done so in embarrassing fashion the last three seasons with each of those victories by 31 points or more while covering double-digit spreads at Oklahoma betting sites in four of the last five.
Sooners to Cash With Comfortable Cover
After suffering a broken bone in his right foot to end his season a couple of weeks ago, Texas tech linebacker Tyree Wilson announced he will not return for his senior year as he prepares for the NFL Draft. Wilson is expected to go off the board early.
While that’s bad news for the Red Raiders, it’s good news for the Sooners who won’t have to worry about the pass rush specialist on Saturday night. Oklahoma easily covers, 34-24.

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Saturday, November 26, 2022 – 12:00 PM EST at Boone Pickens Stadium
While the race for the Big 12 Championship may be coming down to the final week of the regular season, there are a couple of games on the Week 13 slate that will only interest a few die-hard fans and college football bettors.
Take the West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State matchup, for example. I mean, does half of the country even know the Mountaineers and Cowboys are in the same conference, much less meeting this Saturday in Stillwater?
Mountaineers Winless on Big 12 Highway
West Virginia might be the biggest enigma behind Kansas in the Big 12. Neal Brown’s Mountaineers have just two conference wins, and they came against defending league champ Baylor and Oklahoma, the preseason pick to win the Big 12.
Oklahoma State isn’t in much better shape. The Cowboys saw their season go up in flames with consecutive road losses to Kansas State and Kansas, then forgot to show up in the first quarter a week ago when they surrendered 28 points to Oklahoma in the first 15 minutes of Bedlam.
Cowboys Have Won Last 7
This rivalry, if you want to call it that, can be traced to a couple of meetings in the 1920s plus the 1987 Sun Bowl, but 10 of the 13 contests have taken place since West Virginia was suckered into the Big 12 and Oklahoma State has won eight of those.
The Cowboys picked up their seventh win in a row over the Mountaineers with a 24-3 decision in Morgantown last year, West Virginia only mustering 133 total yards as a 3½-point underdog at the best sportsbooks. It was the third consecutive ‘Under’ in the series.
Follow Total Trend in Series
After being sent out as 9-point chalk, Oklahoma State has settled in at -8 with the total also dropping a bit to 63½. The right play is for this one to come up short of the total in a 33-24 win for the Cowboys.
