Boise State Broncos vs. Wyoming Cowboys

Saturday, November 19, 2022 – 07:00 PM EST at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium

First place in the Mountain Division of the MWC is on the line in a prime-time Saturday matchup, as the Boise State Broncos look to keep their unbeaten conference record intact with a trip to play the Wyoming Cowboys.

Boise State is the last Mountain West Conference team with a perfect league record, but the Broncos' lead in the division standings is just a game over Wyoming, as the Cowboys look to extend a 4-game win streak.

Boise State Top-Scoring Team in MWC

The Broncos trekked down to Reno a week ago and thoroughly dominated the Wolf Pack in a 41-3 rout that saw Boise State outgain the Nevada 528 yards to 250, easily covering the 3-TD spread at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review).

Wyoming’s trip to Fort Collins also resulted in victory, though it wasn’t nearly as easy for the Cowboys who needed a touchdown in the fourth quarter to rally past Colorado State 14-13 as 8.5-point road chalk.

Can Cowboys Beat Broncos for Just the 2nd Time?

This is the 17th meeting (all in the last 20 years) between the schools and the 11th as MWC opponents, and it has been a lopsided rivalry with the Broncos up 15-1 all-time and 9-1 as conference foes.

Boise State’s 23-13 win at home a season ago came with similar lines at the best sportsbooks as this game, and it marked the Broncos’ fifth-straight dubya though the Cowboys have covered the spreads in 6 of the last 7.

Cowboys Corral Broncos With Cover

It’s essential to check the weather for all MWC games this time of year, and it’s going to be a chilly evening in Laramie with the thermometer around 30°F for the 05:00 PM local boot along with clear skies and an SW breeze in the 10-15 mph range.

Best Bet

Boise State is favored by 13.5-14 points with the total sitting at 44.

Take the Cowboys and the points in a 26-17 Broncos win.

San Jose State Spartans vs. Utah State Aggies

Saturday, November 19, 2022 - 09:45 PM EST at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium

Tied for second and a game behind Fresno State in the West Division of the MWC, the San Jose State Spartans play one of the last games on the NCAAF odds board with a trip northeast to meet a Utah State Aggies team that is aiming to become bowl eligible.

Both Sides Have Favored the Under

San Jose State is showing up as chalk in the 2-2.5 range depending on where one shops for wagers, and there’s a 51-point consensus for the total with both teams having most of their games stop short this season (SJSU 3-5-1 O/U/P, USU 3-7 O/U).

Utah State Down 2 Quarterbacks

San Jose State is all about the pass with redshirt junior quarterback Chevan Cordeiro directing the spread option attack to 271 yards through the air each game, good enough for 31st in the country, along with a defense that ranks third in the conference.

Utah State also runs a spread option, but the Aggies have a more balanced attack that was made necessary when No. 1 quarterback Logan Bonner, a senior transfer from Arkansas State, was lost for the season with a foot injury.

Spartans, Aggies Meet for 41st Time

San Jose State owned a dominating 2:1 advantage in the rivalry over Utah State at one point, but the Aggies have won 9 in a row and can tie the series with a victory on Saturday.

Utah State cut the Spartans’ edge to 20-19 (plus a tie) with a runaway 48-17 win in San Jose a year ago, a mild upset with the Aggies getting 3.5 on the road. The final was the fourth in a row to go past the total.

Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

It might feel a little warmer in Logan on Saturday than it will be in Laramie because of there is less wind, but it’s still going to be cold with most of this game played in the upper-20s under a blanket of stars.

Best Bet

Utah State’s win streak in the series is impressive, and San Jose State has endured some struggles on the road. But instead of adding a spread wager to my college football picks, this one smells like a low-scoring affair with the Spartans coming out on top 26-23.
