Finally, we had a big winning week after a weird set of games to open the season. We tweaked some things and came back stronger in Week 4. We now have enough data and games in the books to rely fully on what we’ve seen this year and not what we thought we knew entering the year.
In general, Week 5 is light on top matchups. This isn’t a bad thing for bettors. We’re looking to play the smaller games that oddsmakers have overlooked anyways. Check out our breakdown of each of our top plays.
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Saturday, October 2,2021- 12:00 PM EDT at Stanford Stadium
Did oddsmakers not just see what Arkansas did to a similarly great defense in Texas A&M last week? I doubt Georgia will be caught as off-guard as Jimbo Fisher’s defense was, but Arkansas wasn’t all tricks. They have legitimate premier talent on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Georgia has a mediocre offense once again. Just like I said last week, putting a small play on Arkansas to win outright would be wise. But the best bet is for the Razorbacks to cover in a close battle.

Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Saturday, October 2, 2021 - 2:30 PM EDT at Notre Dame Stadium
Notre Dame has been close to falling apart each week against lesser teams. Finally, a well-balanced roster that is coached up to their max potential is coming. Cincinnati is quite good, and with Jack Coan’s finger injury, the Irish are vulnerable at home.
I don’t love that this line has moved so much in the road team’s favor. I do believe in Luke Fickell’s explosive offense and opportunistic defense to ascend at the moment once again. For my NCAAF picks, I’ll take the Bearcats on the road in a high-scoring affair.

Boston College Eagles vs. Clemson Tigers
Saturday, October 2, 2021- 7:30 PM EDT at Memorial Stadium
Clemson, shockingly, isn’t a good overall team. Offensive coordinator Tony Elliott has been a disaster without Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne to anchor the offense. It’s stunning since D.J. Uiagalelei was so good in relief of Lawrence last year.
Boston College doesn’t have the overall talent N.C. State does as far as pulling an upset but they’ll keep this game within two scores. Their defense is able to stuff the run. It’s only a shame quarterback Phil Jurkovec is out for the season with a hand injury.
NCAAF Pick: Boston College +15.5 (-110) with BetOnline
NCAAF Pick: Under 46 (-112) with BetOnline
