Georgia has allowed 6.6 points per game through seven games this season. However, Florida might be the best offense that Georgia has faced all season. Can the Gators stick around? Let’s see what NCAAF odds offer the best value for this one.

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators

Saturday, October 30, 2021 – 03:30 PM EDT at TIAA Bank Field

The Florida Gators will welcome the number one team in the nation, the Georgia Bulldogs, to Jacksonville for a rivalry showdown in the SEC. Florida has looked terrible against solid competition in the last few weeks. Before the bye week last week, Florida lost games to Kentucky and LSU on the road. Earlier in the season, they almost knocked off Alabama, who was the number one team at the time.

Florida will now play their second game against a number one opponent this year and hope that this game goes a bit differently. However, it won’t. Georgia is an elite defense allowing just 207.1 yards per game and 6.6 points per game. Teams are averaging less than a touchdown per game through seven games against Georgia this season. Florida might be the best offense that Georgia will face so far this year, but it won’t mean much.

The Gators average over 500 yards per game with over 250 yards rushing per game. Against LSU, backup quarterback Anthony Richardson relieved starting quarterback Emory Jones and threw for three touchdowns on 19 attempts. However, he also threw two interceptions. He showed some really good and really bad but easily looked better and more productive than Emory Jones. At this time, it’s unclear who will be the starting quarterback for the Gators against Georgia.

Meanwhile, Georgia has two very reliable quarterbacks that are kind of dueling each other week by week for the opportunity to start. Kirby Smart believes both are fantastic and I can’t decide who is better at quarterback. I guess you don’t fix what’s not broken.

Lately, it’s been Stetson Bennett putting in work at quarterback. He’s thrown 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions on the year. He’s only needed to average one per game to get wins for this Georgia team. Florida has a very solid pass rush but they’ve been awful against the run. Against LSU, they allowed the Tigers to run all over them. A Tigers team that had been awful rushing the football up until that moment.

The Pick

No team is really a scare to Georgia but I do think Florida is able to put up the most points this season against Georgia. They’re averaging over 500 yards per game and with Anthony Richardson at quarterback, there’s plenty of reason to believe this offense can sustain success. Meanwhile, despite Florida allowing 21.1 points per game, that defense is terrible against the run and really hasn’t looked great in coverage at all this season.

I’m going to take the over in a Georgia football game for my NCAAF pick here. Call me crazy but I like Florida to at least score 20 points in this one and believe Georgia could still cover this game.
