Buffalo Bulls vs. Miami (OH) RedHawks

Tuesday, November 09, 2021 – 07:00 PM EDT at Yager Stadium

The Miami (OH) RedHawks will welcome the Buffalo Bulls to Yager Stadium for a Tuesday Kickoff between 4-5 teams. There’s a lot at stake in this game, including potential bowl eligibility moving forward. The Bulls are averaging 33.6 points per game while allowing 29 points per game. The offense is still electric while the defense is getting burned this season. However, overall, Buffalo, despite not performing well in coverage, has played well on the defensive end in all other areas.

The pass rush has basically saved the coverage in many spots this season and the rushing defense is more than capable of getting stops, despite allowing nearly 200 yards per game. Buffalo’s offense is led by Kyle Vantrease, who has eight touchdowns and five interceptions on the year. He is currently listed as the starter for this game but hasn’t practiced much leading up to the game due to an undisclosed reason.

Buffalo is more known for the running game as they’re averaging 206.3 yards per game this season on the ground. Dylan McDuffie has been the go-to guy with 766 yards rushing along with nine touchdowns and 5.5 yards per carry.

On the flip side, Miami (OH) has been quality on the offense too, however, the offensive line has really struggled to protect quarterback Brett Gabbert. Gabbert has 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions on the year. He’s been terrific. With help from the offensive line, things would be so much better for the RedHawks.

At the end of the day, Buffalo has one of the best pass rushes in the MAC and that should force Gabbert into some mistakes, despite Buffalo having a very poor second. With the Bulls getting seven points, you got to take the points here in a game where it just seems so evenly matched.

Ohio Bobcats vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles

Tuesday, November 09, 2021 - 08:00 PM EST at Rynearson Stadium

The Ohio Bobcats stunned the Miami (OH) RedHawks last week, winning 35-33 in a close matchup. Ohio had lost three of their prior games to Kent State, Buffalo, and Central Michigan after defeating Akron on the road. Ohio hasn’t been great this season but the offense stepped up last week. With quarterback Kurtis Rourke, anything is possible for Ohio in the passing game. The problem is he doesn’t get much protection from the offensive line.

Just like Buffalo, Eastern Michigan has dominated in the passing game with a terrific pass rush that creates chaos. Ohio will be able to get some yards rushing the football as they average 185.8 yards per game on the ground this season. Eastern Michigan, on the other hand, is allowing 187.6 yards per game.

However, don’t be expecting Ohio to move the ball down the field with the passing game too often. Ohio, on the defensive end, has struggled to get stops in the run game but does have a solid secondary. Eastern Michigan is averaging 34.9 points per game but just 117.6 yards per game on the ground.

Ohio will use their coverage to their advantage while Eastern Michigan will use their pass rush to their advantage. I like this MAC game to go under for my NCAAF pick. And I hate taking unders in this league. It just makes too much sense.
