This week, with conference play on the horizon, there’s been plenty of line movement. Some of the line movement has been questionable and some of it makes sense. I’ve looked through all of the games on Saturday and found the most valuable games to bet on the slate.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Wisconsin Badgers
Saturday, September 25, 2021 – 12:00 PM EDT at Soldier Field
Notre Dame is a 6.5 point favorite with the former Wisconsin Badger under center. This seems to be some real overreaction. Sure, Notre Dame looked poor in their first two games this season, especially on defense, but the team rallied together and dominated Purdue by a couple of scores last week and look to be back to a normal pace.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s offense is gaining yards but they’re not finishing the job. The defense has held their opponents to just over eleven points per game but that’s going to increase going up against Notre Dame.
I know Notre Dame hasn’t played their best brand of football, but getting nearly a touchdown in a game between two ranked opponents is silly. Wisconsin’s offense really might not be able to keep up with Notre Dame and while the Badgers defense has been much better than Notre Dame’s, the Fighting Irish have the potential to be a premier defense, especially in the secondary.
Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz has two interceptions in two games with no passing touchdowns. He won’t be able to throw against Notre Dame’s secondary and the Badgers will have to elect to run the football for success. I just don’t see how they’ll have much success. The offense will struggle just like they did against Penn State.
There’s value on Notre Dame, whether you want to risk it on the moneyline or take them against the spread with the points.

Clemson Tigers vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack
Saturday, September 25, 2021 - 03:30 PM EDT at Carter-Finley Stadium
Clemson has fallen to just being a 10-point favorite against NC State. Let me get this straight... a consistent playoff contender is just going to win by ten points against NC State?
They struggled against Georgia Tech in a game that was delayed for moments and what not. The offense couldn’t figure it out but still got the job done because, on the other hand, Georgia Tech couldn’t figure out their offense either.
Clemson still has one of the best defenses in college football and should be able to shut down NC State and really any ACC opponent this season.
You’re telling me that Clemson won’t be able to score at least 21 points in this game? NC State lost to Miss State a couple of weeks ago, allowing 24 points. NC State only scored ten points against an SEC defense.
The Tigers’ offense voiced frustration after that offensive performance against Georgia Tech and will look themselves in the mirror and figure it out offensively. No team is going to have any success against this Clemson defense this season. There’s so much value on Clemson -10.
NCAAF Pick: Clemson -10 (-110) via BetOnline
