Each week we peruse the college football odds board for one last look to see where the lines have moved from the openers to the near closers in search of the best value on the board. This week we have locked on to three Saturday games loaded with value so make sure to get down early on these college football picks.
Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines
Saturday, November 27, 2021 – 12:00 PM EST at Michigan Stadium
We usually don’t find our value plays on the marquee matchups but we go wherever the bargains take us, and right now we see that the No. 5 team in the nation, Michigan, has risen from a 6 ½ point to a 7 ½ point home underdog to their archrivals from Ohio State.
This game is all about the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. Ohio State has the most prolific offensive attack in the nation, averaging 47.2 points per game, while Michigan owns the 7th ranked defense, surrendering just 16.3 points per contest.
Does Big Blue win this game? Probably not but the value we are getting with 7 ½ points at home is too tempting to resist. The masses will bet Ohio State just because the offense is sexier than defense but we figure this one will go down to the wire so bet Michigan on Saturday and grab the points!
Florida State Seminoles vs. Florida Gators
Saturday, November 27, 2021 - 12:00 PM EST at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
Sometimes the changes in the lines don’t have to be great, they just have to be significant. And there is no more significant move than one that crosses onto, off of, or over the magical number three. And this is just such a case as the Gators were 2 ½ point home chalk to their intrastate rivals from Tallahassee until recently when the number drifted to -3 at a few of the major online books.
There is also plenty of off-field drama on the Florida side of things with their head coach, Dan Mullen, getting axed after last week’s 24-23 overtime loss to Missouri as 9 ½ point road favorites. Losing a head coach at the tail end of the season is not exactly a recipe for team chemistry and unity.
This should be a fine spot to grab the points with an FSU team that has won their last two games as underdogs against Miami and Boston College.
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Saturday, November 27, 2021 - 07:30 PM EST at Boone Pickens Stadium
The oddsmakers initially installed Oklahoma State -3 but that line has crept up throughout the week to where it is now -4 ½ at all of the best online sportsbooks. That means it has crossed two key numbers and gives us tremendous value on the visitors from Norman.
Let’s not forget that the Sooners have dominated this series as evidenced by their 16-2 straight up and 13-5 ATS record against the Cowboys over their last 18 meetings. Oklahoma State is 0-6 straight up and against the number over their last six situations when facing Oklahoma coming off of a victory.
The Sooners’ high-octane offense will wither the respectable Oklahoma State defense which is why Oklahoma will not only cover the number but will likely win this game outright. But just in case it’s close, it’s always good to have a generous number of points from the bookmakers.
