Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs. North Carolina Tar Heels
Saturday, November 06, 2021 – 12:00 PM EDT at Kenan Memorial Stadium
The oddsmakers have this one wrong. The Tar Heels have been installed as 2 ½ point home chalk when, in fact, it should be the Demon Deacons playing the role of the road favorite in this one. Just look at what each team has done lately and then make your decision.
The Demon Deacons are undefeated and ranked 10th in the nation after recently laying the boots to Duke last week to the tune of a 45-7 thrashing and easily covering the 16-point spread. Over their last three games, Wake Forest’s quarterback Sam Hartman has tossed 11 touchdowns with only one interception and has thrown for nearly 1200 yards.
The Heels have failed to cover the college football odds in four of their last five outings and if it’s patterns you are seeking then consider that these teams have swapped wins and losses over their last six meetings dating back to 2007. UNC won a 59-53 shootout just about a year ago so it looks like it’s Wake’s turn to return the favor.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Miami (FL) Hurricanes
Saturday, November 06, 2021 - 12:30 PM EDT at Hard Rock Stadium
This is a perfect storm for the Hurricanes (pun intended). Their opponents this Saturday, conference rival Georgia Tech, have dropped three of their last four games and failed to cover the number in all of them. Last week their offense could not do much against Virginia Tech in a 26-17 loss despite being installed as three-point home favorites.
On the flip side, the Hurricanes have stumbled into a freshman sensation by the name of Tyler Van Dyke after the original starter, D’Eriq King, injured his shoulder against Michigan State and was ruled out for the season. The 6’4” freshman quarterback was thrust into the starting role and has been a force of nature over his last two performances in tossing a combined seven touchdown passes and 751 yards with a completion rate of 76 percent in wins over NC State and last week against Pittsburgh.
I can’t see the Yellow Jackets hanging with this surging Hurricanes’ offense and although the 10-point impost might look a bit daunting to some, it looks mighty tasty to me. Look for a blowout in a game where the two opponents are going in polar opposite directions.
Auburn Tigers vs. Texas A&M Aggies
Saturday, November 06, 2021 - 03:30 PM EDT at Kyle Field
Here we have a Saturday afternoon SEC showdown as No. 12 Auburn takes on No. 13 Texas A&M in what should be a dandy of a game. But we will have no skin in who wins and who loses because the line is showing A&M as a 4 ½ point home favorite and we don’t want any part of either side.
But what we do see is an opportunity to bet the total because that has far more value than picking a side in this one. At the moment, the best line we can pluck on this Tuesday morning writing is 50 at GTbets (visit our GTbets Review). All of the other top-notch offshore books have dropped to 49 ½ and it is important to get every advantage possible, including what could be an insignificant hook on this total.
As you have already deduced, we are going low in this game. Both defenses are rock solid and both offenses like to run the rock. That’s a fine combination for moving the chains a little bit at a time and chewing plenty of time on the clock in the process. This game will be played in the ’20s and will go low, so get down on under in this one for your NCAAF pick.
